| OK King, this seems to be the first actual discussion about the book so here it goes. I Love this book. I'm not through it completely yet but i'm in the middle of Daniels section. The one thing that I've actually started doing is playing my suited connectors differently. And as long as you play it right it can be extremely devistating to your opponent. As long as a raise doesnt damage my stack to bad I've been calling raises that I wouldnt normally call. Usually once you have an Idea of how your opponents play you can pretty much figure they're raising with a good hand, Pairs, Aces, AK etc. the main problem is that if you call a raise w/AK or AQ and run into aces your gonna get smashed and possibly lose everything, but when you call Aces with 45suited and the flop comes 459 or 855 your pretty much gonna stack your opponent, cause alot of people will overplay a big hand. And the biggest thrill comes from the heat that comes down on you at the table. People screaming donkey cause you called with 45. What no one realizes is the little invested in calling the raise can be dumped alot easier than if you flopped top pair with a decent or crappy kicker. I now pretty much expect to be trashed when I use these tactics, and just laugh. I actually had a guy the next day come on and tell everyone that I bluff alot just cause he got blasted by my little hand, when in reality he overplayed a hand that was drawing dead. I don't bluff alot at all, but that fool basically just insured that I was gonna get called when I bet big. I'm sure you probably knew these thing before but I'm kinda new (less than a year) to poker and just had to put my 2 cents in about this book. I have a feeling this one will be read many times (Daniels section at least). And I'd like to here what you have to say about the book as well. |

And are professionals actually gonna leak out they're strats in public? Its insane. Consider yourself a pro poker player , and you giving out your strats on poker. Its the shit. Well if some1 can please temme how poker books are worth it plz write in.! |

Doyle Brunson has a book worth about $100 out there and has sold hundreds if not thousands, you do the math. Do you play poker without knowing the proper odds, position and reads on your table? There is so much to learn from poker books just like there is so much to learn from any educational book. Last edited by shinedown.45 : 5th November 2008 at 12:43 PM. |

| daniel is a good player but that system is kind of weird-but it works for him-you just have to find your own niche and intergrate diffrent styles from other players and make it your own-this will not work for everyone but its a good blueprint inside the mind of a good player-the_urge27 |
