Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better Group Nerds, I'm looking for some people to learn to play PLO8 with. What do I mean by this? Whenever I've played hold'em for the past year or so, I've had a group of players that I can compare notes with. Various members on this forum chat on AIM with me each night, and we talk about random strategy, if my line in a particular hand was good, or if I'm really just running as bad as I think I am. I'd like to have the same sort of thing going with pot limit omaha 8. I'm hoping to play at least 1 night a week, and I'd like 2-3 players to compare hands/sessions with. It'd be a plus if you could show up on AIM between 8PM-1AM eastern time. Poker Tracker Omaha would be a plus, but isn't required. So yeah, post here and hopefully we can get a decent group together.

re: Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better Group poker What kind of stakes were you thinking? I do strictly micro or close to it in cash games. At least for now. Haven;t been playing this game for long either, less than a year, and not too frequently, but I like it a lot, and think I have a good feel for it. Going to read up on it with an Omaha Amazon purchase soon. But I'd definitely be game if the stakes not too high, at least initially. Not sure I remember what my AIM acct is, but I'll see - I usually do Yahoo. Anyway.....

I figure anything below 50c/1$ PLO would be applicable. If you're playing anything higher, most of us would probably just be a burden in the group. We won't meet up and play very much for a variety of reasons (it'd be bad game selection, hard to all get on 1 site, ect.). The key is just to know who you can contact to discuss hands, do session analysis, ect. And this is targeted at deep stacked cash game play. Tournaments are a bit different, and I'm not really interested in 5 tabling PLO8 sit & go's. :P

plo/8 is my primary game, and I may be interested/able at times. Ir depends on what the kids are doing to drive me crazy on that nite. Be prepared for a much swingier game than NL. Though, as a rule, it has much less variance than plo. It can still have times where you are clawing your eyes out. On the plus side. Many peeps over play/value a lot of non nutty hands and really under value scoop (or 1/2 type hands in multi way pots) hands. The play can vary so much from table to table that selection can be an under rated part also. LOL @ pto only for hi.

I'm not much of hi/lo player, but if you need another person to join in on the omaha discussion or question im game aim = nook236 (also listed to the right). I really only play hi, but I figure I miswell get my hi/lo game up anyway, I'm pretty sure I know what to do in hi/lo, my preflop game would probably be slightly off. ON the network I play hi/lo isn't much of a popular game. Either way I figure there will be hands anyway with just the hi pot involved anyway regardless. I've played hi/lo .05/.10 and .10/.20, I play regular PLO .25/.5 and .50/1. aim chats or IM's eitherway, I just want more people talking about omaha either way, there are not enough people that specialize specifically in omaha on this board so stuff like this can definitely be helpful to all. Plus I need help working Pot tracker anyway (dont think it works on microgaming tho). Holler
