| position playing on the button I've had a lot of success with this play when on the button (tourny play) and blinds are not high relative to my stack. Preflop- limpers & NO raises in front of me. limp with ATC. assuming no raises from the blinds, if it is checked to me after the flop, I make a pot size raise. (if the board is scary, I'll sometimes make a 1/2 pot bet (to represent a monster). if called or raised I can check/fold unless I hit something. Not my idea, think i read it in "the Tournement Formula" works for me about 3/4 of the time. thoughts?? |

| I prefer to raise almost ATC on the button if there's around 3-4 limpers + the blinds in the pot. There's so much dead money, if everyone folds to a decent sized raise you make more than you do in an average pot. If one or two of the limpers call, they're usually doing it with a pair or some sort of ace, if they check on the flop, you can usually take it down with a nice sized bet. |
