You mean first-to-act or UTG? It depends on your personal style and the table. I'll generally raise with ALL pocket pairs, AJ+, and occasionally ATs/KQs.

thanks, also another thing i have been wonder is that why is it a huge advantage to be last to act when there are like 2-3 people in post flop or later in the hand? i personaly like being first to act because then i can make a bluff first or set the tone of the hand if i have a read on the other person or somthing.

re: Position poker

Well... you may like playing in first position because you can be the first to bluff, but what are you going to do when someone with a real hand calls or raises you from a later position? In late position, you can get an idea of how strong/weak other players are - if no one has a hand and it's checked you're in a safer position to bluff. Acting last gives you tons of information about how the other players are going to play the hand. If I'm going to bluff, I'd rather do it with that information than without it.

Being in late position has its advantages due to the fact that you get the chance to see what your opponent does before you have to act, helping you to adjust your play in order to extract as much money as you can from your opponent. The bluffs are not really that affective in early position since plenty of people will call your bet with a "fair" hand just because they have position over you and because they have the potential odds of catching something while knowing its likely for you to try to take the pot right away. Good luck at the tables .

If I've called a raise from position I'll more often than not call a cbet without hesitation. Too many players can't fire that second barrel and I can take it away from them on the turn when they check.

I know many players keep track of which hands are most profitable for them; I wonder how many keep track of their chip spew when they cbet a rag flop with AK from UTG and have to fold to a raise or a turn bet.

The table dynamics should also have a big effect on your range and what you do. Where are you in position to passive or aggressive players? Whats your image, etc.

re: Position poker

acting last tends to be best with tighter players and first with looser players
in both ways u have better chances of knowing how to play them and the benefits are better
