What is the best way to perfect your poker stare?

thats something i dont pay attention to - i watch the cards on the table if someones trying to stare me out...either that or stare right back at them

I find if they are staring at you, then your best bet is to wink, blow a kiss and if you are sitting near enough try rubbing their leg.

Works like a charm!

lol @ grumble.

actually, when im being stared down [and i can stare for a long time] i sometimes like to break the tension by sending air kisses or mouthing the words "alligator fruit" ["i love you"].

i also like doing it when i have the nuts, cuz most of the time i get called.

and if you have a problem staring people down, dont look directly at them, but pass them.

Have you ever tried mouthing the word "vaccuum"? ... I don't do that 'cuz I don't wanna start any fights, but...

I use sunglasses. Other than that, I "stare" directly at the other person, though I might be looking at the cards on board. Gotta love sunglasses.

I'm not a fan of the stare, but what about this, I read once that height sometimes has a psychological advantage against apponents.

Soo why not try a few phone books instead of a mean stare!!

Height, size, body frame, position, etc. are all factors when trying to intimidate an opponent. A short, fragile-looking fella who raises you $50 with a nervous glance won't cause the same effect that a 6'4 muscular beast with piercing eyes looking straight into yours will. That's for sure.

The cards are more important than the the stare. If you are in a live game every one is looking for tells. IF YOU REACTED THE SAME WITH EVERY HAND ,BET OR FOLD IT BECOMES DIFFILCUT TO READ YOU. i.e. if you act carzy every time they are never really sure, if you try a stare down someone will blink.

lol---my stare down is limited to slapping the side of my computer and yelling at the screen to fold on my big bets..I find if i stare down my computer to long the guy inside gives me junk cards for the next hour..lol

That is funny, and suits me to a T. I would be too timid to play in a live tourney, but get me behind the computer screen and I can be one cute little dog with a mean bite.
