A poker paradox I've been playing $5 single table SNG's for some time now, and I find I can rarely play my A game because the skill at that level is not enough for players to understand what you are doing. On the other hand, my bankroll will not allow me to play higher stakes. What should I do here? I have a +20% ROI on about 1000 of these SNG's, so I feel I can beat this level. Should I move to multi-table tournies? I know it's a completely different ball game.

20% ROI is OK, so why not continue until you can safely move up? Just cut the fancy play, play straight ahead poker, and you should do even better. THAT is your A game at those limits -- don't outsmart yourself with deep thoughts. Remember the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid).

No, you should mulit-table 5$ SNG. Multi-tabling is a good way to keep a steady ROI (IMHO) because: a) You won't be tempted to make ridiculous/fancy moves due to boredom b) You'll play tighter c) You gain more experience faster 20% over 1000 games is good. Keep plugging at it and improve your bubble play. Multi-tabling a smaller buy-in SNG is also always better than single tabling a bigger $ value SNG because the opposition will usually be softer and you'll always play within your BR levels and risk less of going bust.
