I post it in the hand analysis forum :P

Raising the flop is kinda questionable, since we're not really looking to play a huge pot with an underfull. As played, you pretty much need to ship this as K4 and KK are pretty unlikely.

re: PLO8 rebuy on Pokerstars. In money, what do u do here???

my take on the ship it remark is that you have to call, and race.

I know I would reraise and race here, but I would want to isolate.

Villain has a K, but does he have KK ? Or K4, Like C9 says, its unlikely he has K4 or KK, and u still have lo outs....

So I would shove, hoping to chase all others out, but you cant cuz they were trying to drive you out, so call, becuz the Pot Odds demand it at that point and THEN pray.........

No matter if it's in the money or on the bubble, I would push allin too. I think you had the best hand on the flop, right? They have maybe one K both with nothing, unlikely to hit a full other people too.

Stop playing underfulls so damn fast. My biggest winning hands playing LO8 are overfull vs. underfull, and I can't see why it'd be any different playing PLO8. Non-nut full houses are really a trap hand.

So, last hand. I`m in the bb, flop FH & u say I should fold?
Original hand I have strong lo hand and again flop FH - fold that as well?

Not being funny, but these posts were more of a "can u believe it" post. Notice that on both occassions I got my chips in good but I knew the other guy had outs. I could have been drawing dead, but very very unlikely.

IMO, both times I think u would call them cold decks.

If I had been in the position of the other guys I would possibly have folded in hand 1, but probably not, and played the same way hand 2.

Out of interest, r u suggesting I just check/ call down a FH? I would love 2 know how u would have played it...?

First hand is played fine. Both villains likely have a king, and you have ~50% equity when you're getting 2:1 on your money. And you have to raise his silly little 2000 chip bet on the flop.

In the second hand, you're a 58% favorite vs. any hand with 3 other live cards to pair. That's not a real big favorite, and pushing a small edge early on isn't all that great. Additionally, a JJ9 flop is a great flop just to take a stab at, and I might value bet aces or kings on that board. By raising you shut out these hands that are drawing to four outs & bluffs. So pushing a ~60% favorite early in the tournament is a bit silly. I'd probably call, see a turn, give villain the opportunity to barrel into me, and gain some equity against a hand like JXYZ. Plus when a J, A, K, or 2 hits, you can continue to play pot control.

My advice to not play underfulls so fast was also more general. The way you played these two hands wasn't bad or anything. But what worries me is that when you move up in stakes, playing your hand this way might be a leak, and underfulls can really be trap hands especially on the river. Getting them in on the flop isn't a bad way to go, but just realize that these hands can lose you some seriously large pots.

In these cases I like to go slow unless I am in it against a maniac or I have reason to believe a solid player is on a thin draw.

So usually I am calling to keep the pot size manageable. I'd rather lose a little in potential than a lot when I have committed myself.

Also, there is a BIIIIIG difference IMO in O8 between flopping the vulnerable NUTS and flopping the vulnerable 2nd or third nuts. Usually the odds for a drawing opponent dictate you must defend your hand when you have the nuts and make him pay to see cards. This just is not always so with a lesser hand. Remember everyone else has 4 cards too.

Standard fold.
Its obvious that they both have some kind of K kombination, and you will get outdrawn most of the time.
Edit: your pot odds are actually a little bit better than I thought, but u still need to get lucky for your hand to hold up.

This is exactly what I thought. Plus I didnt have as long as u did to work out i was fav
Seriously though, there was also a litle thing in amongst this that no one has pointed out. I also have the biggest stack out of 3 involved. If the lowest stack hits fh but the second does not, I take my share of chips off the guy in 2nd place, making my loss not as bad.
