| PLO - Going from Tourney to Ring Play? I have been playing a lot of MTTs and STT SnGs lately but all I seem to read is that Ring is where the real money is. I want to try and make the transition to Ring play but I wanted to know..... What five things (or more) should I keep in mind when making this transition. I don;t want to go busto making the switch but I am aware that this is a real possibility. What are the most important things to focus on when playing ring vs SnGs or MTTs? My intention is to play 6-max PLO. |

| Stack sizes and SPR have a big impact on the strength of hands you'll see at showdown - deeper stacks mean that you need a nuttier hand/draw to handle/give alot of action, and getting a feel for what hands other players are playing. Position is more important deeper stacked as well. You could try playing the shallow tables (20-50bb's), it might play more like a SnG (i.e., shallower stacks), though I'm not sure about that. |

| So do you not think a lot of adjustment is needed to make the move? Quote:

| Marginal.....So using the ultimate of micros as an example at AP I buy-in full stack at 01/02 for 2.00, I should be looking to play loose against people with the .40c stacks? And if there are people at the table let's say two that have above the max buy-in I would be looking to play tighter? |

| i think that the shallow stacks seem to play the most agressive and people tend to make pot raises and pot reraises when you have a short stack because they know they will lose less. the deeper stakcs tend to have players that want to play their cards rather then go for coinflips and gutshots and things of that sort. but its omaha so i feel like the looser players tend to go shallow and the nits tend to go to the deeper tables where they dont have to give up a good percentage of their stack preflop because they will have more blinds to their stack but thats just my two cents |

| also, regarding the play from tourneys to ring games is that i tend to play looser in ring games as opposd to playing tihter in my sit n goes that i play regularly. in the ring games, the blind stealing and the continuation betting gets heavier.i feel as though that everypne is a little grittier as the board gains cards. a littl bit more bluffing occurs and just keep in ind that the play gets looser as well |

| I am starting to see the shallow (SS) play in those loose players. I also agree that there is a lot more stealing in ring than there is in SnG mode. I am trying to see cheap flops and trying to play aggressively post flop. I am pot sized betting in position and depending on my draws i am calling these OOP. Seems to be working so far. Hard to tell what will work at 01/02 though |

1/2 to 5/10cents not a lot of diff, but does vary widely from table to table and site to site. Point is to find table with someone who will stack off call with non-nuts, and that is common at micro overall. (Don't be that person!!). |

| I'm interested to hear how things go for you, kmixer. I've been trying to make this transition for a couple of months now and am having a tough time with it. I don't know if it's just a matter of not having hit a groove with ring tables but I miss the dynamic of the changing blinds. I'm leaning heavily to returning to sngs but am still casting about for other perspectives in the meantime. Regardless, hope it goes well for you. |
