can someone please explain if this is a deliberate thing he did, or if he is a wanker, we had been having a good heads up, all was serious, no donkey plays until this, my image was set as a solid tight player or at least i thought, I deided the time was right for a good bluff

Clearly your opponent here was a donkey, just calling down with Queen high. If he had thought you didn't have anything, he would have raised. This may have been avoided if you had pushed harder. If I counted right, there was 2450 in the pot going to the flop, and you bet 800 (33%)? Then on the turn there's 4050 in the pot and you bet 1200(30%)? Again, on the river there's 6450 in the pot, and you bet 1200(19%)?
I would reccomend bets of 75% to 100% of the pot size to try and take down a pot like this. The only exception being if you are sure that your opponent is on a draw sometimes I employ the strategy of betting small on the flop/turn and checking if a card comes that would complete the suspected draw, then I'll take down the pot with a big bet on the river. It is risky as you have to be aware of what cards can make their draw, and bail if it comes out. |

Yes. Donkeys are hardest to bluff. You never know if they'll call down or fold the river. If I get calls from a donkey without at least top pair, many times I hit the brakes and check-call. It's better to wait for them to call down when you actually have a hand. Hit the brakes without one because you know they'll do it again.
