I usually play online around the same time most nights, I've been noticing I'm playing with a lot of the same players. A few of them I have learned to exploit in certain spots which is all well and good but I'm a little uncomfortable because maybe some of the better players are picking up on leaks in my game as well. Should I just try to steer clear of regulars all together and play with random players or would it maybe be beneficial to my game and bankroll to play with regulars? Any opinions on this?

As I rarely have solid advice to give, I will say only one thing, unless bankroll management is not important to you, STOP doing this. |

It depends on how well you play against them. I play against some regulars who are total fish and look for the table they are playing. There's one guy I've probably taken $70 from on .10NL over the past month alone. Of course, I play more for enjoyment, so I like to play against some good regulars too who I can have a conversation with. So, if you play well against them, keep it up as long as you're getting paid, but if they start exploiting your weaknesses, move on. The number one reason I like to play against regulars is I already know their playstyle, so it takes a lot of the guesswork out when you first come to a new table.

Keep in mind that the biggest players in the world routinely sit at the same table, but keep coming back because either they feel they have an edge on the other regs, or the fish that swim into the mix keep the game profitable even though they might pay off a better player from time to time. My opinion is that if you continue to make money at this level, and don't feel you or your bankroll are ready to move up in stakes, keep at it. Best of luck to you. |
