Peeleo's FR cash thread Hey guys, Welcome to my cash thread, i'm gonna be playing 10nl FR cash games and keeping track of my progress here for all to see. There is though, something that makes this particular thread standout from the crowd on this forum, and thats the fact that i'm being staked by a group of players from here, i'm not even sure who the whole crowd is (theres 19/20 backers) but the people I have had correspondence with are tenbob, jagsti and the former marginal I also know that WV is involved. I was given the choice to leave this info out but I thought i'd include it to show everyone what kind of place this is, with TPC's recent startup offer and now this, its clear that CC is the best forum in the whole of the interwebs. I'm super excited about this, and i can't wait to get started, alas though, i have a family to look after and spend time with so most of my playing is going to be at night, including weekends, so my first session as a backed player will take place tonight, unless the wife takes the kids out for a bit later on! Bit of info about me, being playing for a little while now, started off at FR and done fairly well, grinded up from 2nl - 10nl within touching distance of 25nl, and then life happened, I went on a tour of afghanistan, got married, had a gorgeous baby girl (soon to be my avatar ), left the army, found a job on civi street and settled into life at home........ all in the space of 1.5 years! With all of that going on, understandably poker suffered, I was still playing, but not very well, and not very focused , switching around games etc. This year though, after a brief (8k hands) omaha stint, i'm settled.... IRL and in poker, i've been grinding 2nl and doing well, had 2 failed shots at 5nl in the past week but I was nearing a 3rd shot ($85 in my roll yesterday, back from $40 when i left PLO) when i got a pm offering something i could never had refused. I have entered into a 3month contract to play 25k hands per month min, had $100 put into my FT account and withdrew everything that I had on there, I'll be playing 10nl, with another $100 going in if needs be (hopefully not). Any profit over what I have been staked at the time, inc RB, gets split 50/50, if I drop below what I have been given then i'm just playing to make up the money back to the stake level, i.e. next week I win $100 inc RB, my balance is at $200, those profits gets split 50/50, if I lose $30 and the balance is at $70 then i'm just playing to make that $30 back. If i do well then there is a chance to be rolled for higher limits but thats in the future so I wont think too much about that now. I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to one day be playing limits that i've only dreamed of playing at so far, seems daft but ive never played above 10nl so me making enough money to have a roll for 50nl out of this would be amazing for me. Like I said, cant wait to get started on this, and i'm v.grateful for the confidence shown in me to give me a shot at this, stay tuned!!!

Ugh, first session done, down $23.55 which sucks. There was one hand right at the start of the session which i'll admit right now was spew, panicky spew i guess. Party Poker - $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Holdem (9 players) Party Poker Hand Converter Tool from CardsChat.com SB Hero: $10.05 BB: $10.02 UTG: $11.06 MP: $10 MP+1: $10 MP+2: $15.96 LP: $10.85 28/23/6 over 78 hands, stl 50% CO: $4.75 BTN: $14.47 42/8/2 over 30 hands Pre-flop: ($0.15) Hero is SB and dealt ![]() 4 folds, LP raises $0.50, CO folds, BTN calls $0.50, Hero raises $1.95, BB folds, LP calls $1.50, BTN calls $1.50 Flop: ($6.10) (3 players)Hero bets $3, LP raises $8.85 (All-in), BTN folds, Hero calls $5.05 (All-in) Turn: ($23) (2 players)River: ($23) (2 players)Final Pot: $23 Showdown: BTN mucks his hand Outcome: LP wins $0.80 BTN mucks his hand Outcome: LP wins $20.72 This was a squeeze gone wrong, the window popped up and i guess I was just like "fk both of them called, i has equitys 1/2 psb!" then he shoves and I could have saved myself like .5 Bi but for some reason unknown to me I talked myself into calling, probs a bit b/c of the 2 broadways and AK probs shoves, god knows, I just know it was spew and i'm really dissapointed with myself Next stack loser was against a 50/40/6 w/ 3B@13% over 45 hands. Other losers were KK<AA AIPF for -$6 and 67o in the SB on a 6396J with 3 to a flush on board, pot at the river was $5, I bet $2.50, BTN raises to $5 and the SB who checked the river shoves for his last $3, should have checked the river and maybe called a small bet but by the time the SB shoves the pots at $15 and I have to put $2.50 in to call, i'm always beat and I need to learn to fold there no matter how good my pot odds are as its irrelevant. All this was made a bit worse by my inability to get it in against anyone who had over $4 in their stack, unless I was beat like the times above! all of my wins were between 3 and $4. So I dont know what went wrong tonight but the rolls down to $76.45 already. My stats ended up being 18/14/4 which is crazy compared to my usual 15/12 at 2nl. This may have had something to do with it and the fact that my redline was actually positive, just being too aggro tonight maybe and need to reign it in a bit for the next session. Dropping down to 7/8 tables from 10-12 might have effected me too, I dunno, maybe I just ran bad (bar the T8 spew). Hopefully tomorrows a better day! So first sessions garph, if i could just win at showdown more/learn to not call when beat i might be on my way to beating 10nl, also 1BI -ev which i know means shit but its a bit of a pickup and I need any pickup i can get right now lol

Played session number 2, disappointingly i was down another half a Bi, and being down sucks, but I came back from -2Bi's down in the first 300 hands and was showing a profit, which I really need right now, a profitable session at 10nl, had just clicked sitout next BB on all my tables when i get 99 in the CO and the whole table limps..... Gonna export my hands and install HEM onto my work machine so I can have a look at them over lunch tomorrow I think, specially hands where i'm cold calling as that 5% gap needs to be closed and the VPIP needs to drop a few percent imo. I think it might tighten up naturally as I get enough of a roll to play a few more tables though, atm I can only open like 6 tops and if i drop some money on a few tables I have to close down to 5, was hoping to be able to start on 7 tomorrow but thanks to the 30% dog above hitting his fkin flush out that aint gonna happen lol ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last edited by WVHillbilly : 23rd March 2011 at 2:37 PM.

Keep at it dude, the tide will turn. I know its FR and playing less tables is meh, but just concentrate on making +EV plays and play 4-6 tables until you ship a couple of winning days. Confidence will return, and you can slowly add more tables as the roll increases.

Anyways, back to poker, got HEM installed on my work laptop after playin around for a while getting postgres on, was gonna give up but it was as simple as not running a service which should have been (secondary logon fwiw) so I had emailed my hands from 10nl so far and was determined to find out where i've been going wrong. Well I found my leaks, and if I can get these plugged then i'l hopefully be on my way to profitz, not sure why I'm playing so passively when in the past I have been a good aggressor IP, could be the amount of tables, could be just nerves and trying to hit a big score with implied odds hands, I dunno. Heres the filters I ran and my notes I made in Notepad: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- DID CC , LOST >0 <5BB = -$8.40 atm over 26 hands, not good enough! A7s, flatted in CO vs 47/33 3Xbb open, fit or fold on flop - raise or fold. AKo, flatted on BTN vs 45c CO open, fit or fold on flop - 3bet AK IP 33 set-mining oop, c/f 762 flop - fold oop, as played poss c/r 77, flatted on BTN vs 33/12 1/2 stack, folded to squeeze from SB - fold or 3bet vs 1/2 stack, not good enough effstack to semine vs kinda passive guy. 89 called in SB, fit or fold post - fold oop 99 setmining oop vs 1/2 stack 39/22, c/f flop - 3bet, flop comes dry K42 and I c/f WTF 66 setmined oop - fold oop AJo, flatted IP vs 18/6 - fold, nothing that we beat calls a 3bet, anything we are crushed by calls/4bets A4h flatted in SB, f or f on flop. fold AKo, flatted 4bb open from a 37bb stack - def 4bet, can play for stacks with a 37bb opener imo and poss get folds from AJ+ who wouldn't cbet dry flop if 3bet pre but would fold to cbet from a 3bettor, can make AK fold post-flop here if board comes dry! Cliffs: When set-mining raise cbets on dry boards, too much folding and only playing for set value, leads on too ----> Tighten up OOP FFS, too much set-mining oop and flatting with hands which could be 3bet from blinds vs certain villain. 3bet AK IP vs villain with decent PFR % size, Axs start folding for now IP or OOP, unless over-calling 2+ other CC's. AT+AJ learn to fold IP vs nitty raisers, no initiative post if flatting and cant 3bet pre so fold>3betting>calling imo. |

Just finished tonights session, possibly the most boring session in the world but managed to make at least one of the adjustments I mentioned above and ran at 16.7/13.7 which is a slight improvement. I'm still failing miserably to get my stack in against full stacks and win. All of my AI wins are still in the 3-$4 range and its starting to do my head in! Got it in today vs a 20/14 and thought i was definetly good, had to be huge and could this be the session where things turn around for me.....of course not, top of his range again, i really need to start finding the so-called hoards of fish at 10nl! Anyways, session graph below, gonna export my sessions hands again and email them to work, that was good today on my lunch coming up with the above so gonna carry that on i think and do some session analysis the next day. ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us Laters potatas!
