Paying people off on the river at 10NL Look at my stats below and my graph. Do you think my WTSD is too high and W$SD is too low? It seems to be a leak of mine and could improve my win rate if I folded more on the flop. Also on a side note, what is the advantage of bet/folding or check/calling the river? What should we look for and what is the reason for both? ![]() Thanks

your playing looser in SB than you are in CO? I dont use PT3 is 1 CO, 2 MP, 3 UTG? b/f and c/c are obviously player dependent, stations/passive players c/f against really aggro or maniacs c/c/ b/f is generally better at micros because people rarely bluff rivers and love to call which therefore you miss value.

re: Poker & Paying people off on the river at 10NL First off, this is only 12k hands. I think the standard is around at least 30k. So see if variance sorts this one out on its own first. I will say though, one thing that stands out to me is your Agression Factor. Its way way too high. As well, your graph shows this by the ol' red line. Whats going on here is you are taking down the pots, but more than likely taking down the pots on the flop and turn when people are willing to fold. They, on the other hand, are getting value from you when you fire on the river and they have you beat. Most likely from overvaluing your hands. Most people are in the negative on the red line....(just an FYI.) But all that really matters is that you are ahead on the green line. I would recommend turning down the agression a little and also....so far from what I'm seeing, it doesnt seem to be a great strategy to open from the sb 100% of the time against nits....you are -12bbs from this position.

IMO the AF is ok, better too agg than passive IMO, however maybe I do stab too often on the river. Looking at AF on different streets may help me determine that (can post if anyone's interested). I try to do the 'bet with air/nut hands/strong SDV hands and check back the middle pairs/weak SDV hands'. As for opening from the SB i'm pretty confident in this. For starters, if I folded every SB my bb/100 would be -50, so opening is gaining me ~32BBs/100. Also mathematically if someone in the BB folds 40% of the time you can open 100% range in the sb profitably (assuming you don't pay them off post flop). Extending this, if SB and BB fold 20% each to steals (so 40% combined) you can open any BTN 100% of the time to be neutral EV too. |

im at my sisters atm, DB is on my desktop but I will find out for you tomorrow! As for the numbers as a whole, you kinda wanna try and get away from those abit now and focus on individual hands in situations. Justify every move before making one even though what you may think is standard there may not be. Try and get the HEM filters in the mixer which will give you a better idea of what to look at, My coach is going through some of them over the next few sessions so I can maybe start to offer some suggestions then from numbers

get on skype so we can discuss hands all three of the things you mentioned, I mean like really think about why your doing something, you will go through a few thought processes if your uncomfortable and have questions in very small pots but thats good for thinking in the correct way aswell. but yeah we have been really poker strat oriented for about the last 2 weeks in the skype group instead of just talking about Tyler's sister that only comes after HH discussion. We have me, alex, austin, tyler, georgi, neil, andrew who post every day in there about stuff and neil etc who pop in now and again.
