Pathetic freeroller

anyone got some insight or a link about playing freerolls. i get torn apart. seems like every move i make is wrong. i try a different style and i'm a goner.

Early on in freerolls its a crap shoot because you have people trying to get as many chips as possible early. Play only premium hands early for a raise, and if you can see the flop cheap with the marginal hands (suited connectors, low pocket pairs, etc...)

Thing to remember about freerolls is that although you are trying to play proper poker over half the entrants are playing craps and hoping to get lucky.

thanks for the replies. i read thru the freeroll strategy guide you linked. it made me realize some of the holes i had.

anyway, i hit paydirt yesterday at noble. finished 18th, not going to retire yet, but it feels good to have a little success.

Lol you sound like me when I first started playing, all you need is to win one and it will boost your confidence :-), as far as strategy goes they covered it all, the first 15 mins is what I call bingo, you take whatever you get and your all in, survive that and just play like you normally do and you are on your way

trent's right. Most of them go all-in with or withought a hand, it's dangerous sometimes to call. Thats why you have to use ur best judgement when it comes to this. Any two face cards, meaning, 10, J, Q, K, A or pocket pairs over 7 u should call, anything else pitch it. If u get beat, it will probably be beacuse of luck. Again use your best judgement when it comes to it.

Later in the game you want to be aggresive, otherwise, when it comes later and later in the game, everyone would have already have doubled if not trippled your chip stack. Take advantage early in the game when all the morons are playing.
