Optimum strategy for deep stack games Firstly, im new to deep stack games, playing soley full ring right now and it is at micro stakes, though this is more of an general question and not for any one particular stake. Is there any one strategy thats proven better than others for deep stack games? ive noticed a lot of people call raises with a lot of funky hands trying to catch big against better starting hands and get huge pots. Is this generally a good idea? Ive tried it and im thinking no, i would maybe do it live just because i feel i can read people better but im not thinking it's a good strategy online. This could be me not playing the style well though. What im thinking is it's still better to play tighter, big pairs, AK, two suited cards to broadway, getting in cheap or raising in position with suited connectors or smaller pocket pairs etc this way i feel you can win a lot of smaller and medium pots, lose some big pots to the drawing hands, but also win big pots off them with at times also (higher flush, bigger set etc). Thoughts? Paul

I certainly wouldnt play hands like J2s or the like... but suited connectors and suited one and two gappers can yield buttloads of chips your direction if you can 1) get in cheap in position with several people seeing a flop, 2) hit a decent flop 3) hook a sucker with TPTK or 2 pair willing to stack their chips off. Just be sure to dump your hand if you don't hit a good flop or if you think you might be drawing to the second best hand...

yea like shaggy said, obviously avoid the horrible hands as usual, but be a little more lenient with the suited connectors and lower pairs than you normally would be...of course always stay cognizant of position and people's ranges, but you can afford to play a few more pots than usual...
