Only way to play A/A Only way to place A/A with the highest percentages is to get people to fold...How do U do this? ALL IN of course. A/A in limit games is a little tougher but stick to ur guns and raise preflop...if u get a caller after the flop simply call if u feel they may have a better hand.

re: Only way to play A/A poker A/A is a hand i love and a hand i hate. i love it because its A/A. in the words of my friend "I looked down at A/A and got an instant hardon." i hate it because after seeing it i think "how am i going to play this hand and make as much money as i can?" A/A: the hand that can make you is the same hand that can break you. there are a lot of things to consider when you are playing A/A. you want to keep people in to build up the pot, but you dont want to make it too cheap and have someone call with 7/10 off and hit two pair. on the other hand, you dont want to make too expensive and not get any callers at all..and end up winning whatever the blinds are. to me, playing A/A depends on what position you are at the table and how the other players play at the table. if i get pockets early on and i know there are aggresive after me, ill limp in and hope that one of them will make a raise. then when it gets back to me, ill reraise them and get other players to fold. if im luck, ill get re-reraised and then i can push all in and most likely get called. this way its heads up action/short handed and theres already a nice pot in the middle. if im in middle postion and i get limpers, again it'll depend on who is after me. usually ill play the aggressor and make a mid size raise here to knock anyone looking to limp after me, then ill play accordingly to how the cards flopped. if im late position, then its easy. if there have been a bunch of raises and reraises and people folding to me..then its a simple call. if everyone is just limping, i raise to make it look like im stealing the blinds and hopefully ill get a reraise and ill get some of the limpers to fold. on the flop, i like to play strong as well. only time i would push an all in is if there any type of draws showing. i dont want to get assed out by a straight draw hitting because i wasnt betting strong...

you never want to make "casual" bets, especially with AA. you want to bet for 2 reasons: 1. to build the pot and 2. to protect your hand. Bet enough so its expensive to call if someone has a weak hand, but just enough that its tempting to call if your opponent is holding something like QQ or A/K. if you get a good number of callers and win a nice pot...great. if everyone folds to your bet, it sucks..but at least you played your hand right. theres nothing worse then letting everyone getting a free look at the cards. you bet all the way to the river..then flip over AA with a smile and then someone flips over Q/5..you look at the board and see a Q/5. what did you do? you just build a nice pot for someone else to take. the only time i would consider going all in with AA is if your low stack. just push all in, dont even say anything...just push your chips in and watch what happens. if youre low stack, dont bet and keep chips in front of you. if you have $30 bucks left, dont bet out 15$ and keep $15 yourself. players will think "hes been sitting on that stack for a while and now hes bet out 15, he must have nice hand if hes keeping some chips with him." if you push all in they think "he doesnt have a strong hand, i put him on J/x and hes just making a play for the chips in the middle. its not going to hurt my stack to call him and maybe take his chips, so ill call."

I only play tournaments, and during the early stages, I will raise about 1/3 of my stack size, and later on, it ranges between 3-5x the big blind. Only time I limp with aces is under the gun, and it is only for deception purposes, and to limp reraise someone who gets tricky.

I've played live games, and I find that I am a much better tournament player than a live money player, so I am devoting my energy to being good at what I am better at. I do play sit n go's and heads up sometimes, but I love the feel of a tournament much better. Feels good to get past hundreds of people to that final table.

I don't think going all in is the best idea with rockets. I do think that a big raise pre flop is nessesary though. AA is a hand that cannot be played the same every time and there is no set rule for how to play them. Play according to the hand and that is how you'll win. Flyin

It really depends more on the situation than anything. Chip counts and other players' positions dictate what I will do with it. If everyone but you and the blinds fold their hand do you go all in? No, I might even check. No hand ever dictates one particular action, unless of course it is garbage........

re: Only way to play A/A poker For me I usually make a preflop raise-not all in & after the flop if no connected cards or flush draws I would go all-in. If there are I usually just wait out till river & re-evaluate my position before going crazy. Have seen many people go all-in pre-flop & get burned.

AA has caused me more rocket burn than success. I may bump the pre-flop, more likely to just call. However, very late in a tourney (when not quite in the money but not far from either) and when I have a good chip stack and in a late position I may throw it all in and hope I scare most out of the pot. This has been the best situation for me because noone wants to be put out just before they get into the payoff. gl to all with AA I'll happily snd burn ointment when rocket burn occurs though=-) let me know where and when to send it, lol

If I'm coming into the hand, if it has not been raised, I don't care whether I have AA or QT, I will raise it 95% of the time. I do not want people to put me on a betting pattern. Raising all-in with AA is stupid, in my book, unless you are the short stack at the table. You're playing the value of the hand...the dumbest thing to do. Come in for a standard raise, you'll most likely get more than half the table to fold from that. Or, if you're in late position, and a lot of players have folded, you might just limp in, and make the players still in believe that you do not have an ace, let alone two aces. That'll make for an interesting hand if you spike a set.

AA is simple. If you ever flat call anywhere other than first position before the flop, you should be smacked upside the head. I see so many people only call with aces even in the big blind. Anyone who does that simply deserves to lose the hand.
