Basically its about picking the right starting hands.
You want to be able to draw to both a high hand and a low hand, at least one should be the nuts. The best starting hand for example is AA23 double suited. So you start with the best hand AA and you are drawing to the best possible low most of the time. Whilst also having 2 nut flush draws to improve too. If you are drawing to a hand thats not the nuts and there are many people in the pot still, you are best off folding as you can be sure at least one of them is. Also try not to chase a low hand heads up if you have no high hand, you are just being freerolled by the other player. He has half the pot sewn up and if you don't make your low then you lost the whole pot. If you play a hand that you think was questionable post it in the hand analysis section and if not myself, someone should be able to comment on where you were right or wrong. |

I agree with grumble...to many high low players raise on the A/2 or A/A that's a mistake although i will call a reasonable raise with those cards i would never go all in like most folks...the hand that affords good odds at hitting either way is the best way to go....although i like A/A/2/3 suited i also like A/A/K/2 suited. good luck...won many a tourney in hi lo and by far it's the best game to make money on cash tables....it's also easy to lose it
