Omaha Hi preflop hand
Is there any real reason to play an omaha hand when you have 3 of a kind in your hole cards? I can see position making it possible, and maybe if you have aces or kings, but for middle sets, am I correct in thinking these are just garbage? Reason I ask is that I was dealt trip7s and a king in MP, in a full ring game, a little bit ago and just mucked it. Of course the case 7 hit on the flop, but I still think I made the correct decision to muck.

Well think about it. You can only use 2 cards in your hand, so why would a third one be helpful? The only thing it does is take away an out for a set, and provide you with one less helpful backup card to your pair.
xxxy hands and xxxx hands are pretty much trash in OH games except maybe in some shorthanded situations. |

being a omaha player, i can tell you to instafold 777k, because you dont have straight draw, 1 second nut flush draw at most, something like 14:1 to hit your set, and even if you hit that set, it will probably be beat by showdown unless board show 7,2,2,2,2. the only trip hands playable are AAAX when getting good pot odds to hit ace, and KKKA suited, but once agin only cheap to try and hit nut flush draw and nut straight draw
