omaha hi/low-help with the low
The online is so fast I miss some things. Can someone help me make sure I am looking at things right.
A 2 3 4 5 is the nuts low who win in this: player 1: a 2 3 4 6 player 2: a 2 3 4 7 I think player 1 but I swear i saw player 2 get it online. Am I wrong and how do you determine it? I tried to look up the rules online but all the sites I found don't give enough examples to make it clear. I thought you went A 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 in that order. If both have an A then you look for a 2... until you have a winner or a split pot. I am trying to get a grip before a cash game hi/lo this weekend. Thanks! |

You start from the highest card in the low and work down (in other words it's the exact opposite of what you think
), the player with the first card that is lower then his opponent takes the low pot.Example: Player A has A2467 Player B has A3458 Reversed gives, Player A has 7642A Player B has 8543A Player A wins, as 7 is lower than Player B's 8 Another one: Player A has A3467 Player B has A2567 Reversed gives Player A has 7643A Player B has 7652A Both players have 7, so take the next card down, both players have 6 too, so take the next. Player A wins as his 4 is lower than Player B's 5. |

Next time get a hand history and examine it. You might see something you missed. A lot depends on what's on the board and what's in the hole cards. As Crippler points out you have to use exactly 2 cards and that can throw people off.
