NL25 6-max problem.

I've been playing poker for few months now, mostly 6-max, and everything has been going decently by far, but NL25 gives me trouble and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong / what I could do better. So I thought I'd post here some stats and graph for you to see and maybe you could give me some feedback / advice on how to improve...(?). That is my request.

Here's some stats:

You're doing fine.

Post some hands in the hand analysis section or discuss more specific parts of your game.

These stats will only show a glaring leak if someone is completely new.
The biggest influences on your winrate are going to be table selection and tilt control.

Also, your sample is miniscule, the rollercoaster ride can be expected.

What's your standard deviation? To put things in perspective, mine was around 130 bb's. That seems like a pretty tame roller coaster ride to me.

Seems I found that stat from HEM, says: 66.65 bb's.

I think one of the main things that has caused me trouble might be responding to 3bets. You can see that first downswing, it happened mostly because(or at least I think so) people kept 3betting almost all my preflop raises. And when I respond to them by 4betting, they call and often bluff(?) me off the pot as I don't have balls to continue flop without hitting it. (in example hand like AK).

Any advice on this one?

Very common problem when moving up actually. Here is the one true key:

"They are not 3betting you light at 25nl. They have the AK/QQ+ 90% of the time. You can fold or play for stacks depending on what you opened with."

It's our brains that are at fault for this they're-all-ultra-3bet-monkeys-when-we-move-up syndrome.
1st our sample sizes are small so 3bet %s can seem high until we get some more hands at the level.
2nd we think that because we're moving up players are just going to be better (read more aggressive) but one level to the next that's just not the case. 10nl and 25nl play about the same.
3rd We're trying hard to "play better" than we did at our previous level, when the fact is the same game that beat 10nl will beat 25nl. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ADJUST YOUR GAME!

you are not doing too bad actually at 2.45 bb/100, considering you just started, keep up the good work and adapt as you go. you will make more money. i play the same level as you, along with 10nl, and i have the same problem with 3bet 4bet AK situation and it's been eating me from the inside.

This was so true that it made me laugh.
I must admit that I have/had that they're-all-ultra-3bet-monkeys-when-we-move-up syndrome. Anyway, thanks for your post WVHillbilly, it made me realize few simple things I never had thought about...

Believe me I learned everything I wrote in that post the expensive way.

Stats look decent IMO.

Couple things of interest...

1) 3-bet call % is low, meaning you are being victimized by light 3-bets, or just giving up your bets too often preflop. Other people with HUDs will take advantage of this.

2) Your fold to c-bet % is high about 2/3 times you fold, meaning your playing ABC fit or fold poker. Try floating bets in position, raising chronic c-bets. Basicaly your giving up pots too often post flop. This is also apparent since you have the dreaded "downward sloping red line"

3) Your running bad, you should be a much bigger winner.


Keep up the good work. 25NL isn't much different then 10NL.
