| NL Hold 'Em specifically at Cake... It seems that 2x the pot is what it takes to make all but the fishiest of players fold. Earlier a guy needed two cards to make a flush with his A-Qs or any ace or queen of course. What's fascinating is that he decided to bluff, then call my all-in raise. I only had 10-10 but this is inconsequential. What's important is that he didn't outdraw me(grace of the gods), and his bluff was pot sized. All-in costed him the final 2/3 of his stack. In a ring game, the final 2/3 of his stack. They seem to get married to really big hands. They can't let go of them. So the secret seems to have a lot to do with their not catching so much as a baby pair. You can't bluff them off of a baby pair, but much like with the fish at UB's microstakes tables, if you spot a busted draw it's worth taking a shot, just try to have two pair or better when you do because like I said, they won't fold so much as a baby pair. I need awhile longer at the tables to see how much of this works regularly vs. how much is a fluke. At any rate I left with over $5 pushing my total BR up to more than $30. Added benefit is that I can now clear the next $10 of my bonus in under 100 points, and I earned a second gold chip for the month. Am now hopeful about clearing the bonus and not losing money in the process. |
