need some input here

I have been playing poker for almost 2 years now and have been ok for at it. I was wondering if some one could help me finish in the money, and I am not saying i never do because I do, but in the bigger tournies I always find myself knocked out with around 10 spots left too the money and that is really hearbreaking. I was wondering if someone had some advice too break this trend. I feel like I am so close to becoming a really good poker player and was wondering if someone could give me some help.

The second question I have is I was wondering if their is some kind of leaderboard of some kind on here that has too do with the freeroll tournies too see where I would stack up. when playin in these freeroll tournies.. I hope that makes sense. The last thing I want too know since I haven't posted on here in so long is where do I find the passwords for these freerolls?

Thank you for your time and good luck cashing guys!!!

here is the link to the freeroll password section. you can find this subforum on the main page under the cardschat freeroll forum.

here is the link to our freeroll leader boards and sign ups. this thread is in the same section that you posted this thread in.

as far as getting you to the money in tournaments, that is something that we need more specifics on.

I am not sure what u mean by specifics, but in the 5k and 3k's is usually what I have played on bodog and honestly I have ended up 10 spots out of the money a lot lately whereever I play and I am really confident in the way I play. I don't suck out on anyone and of course everyone gets beat by the suck out. I have a habit of playing runners like 10,9 or 8,7 a lot and I know these are hands that you can't really play in you are on the bubble, but it seems like these are the types of hands that you can win big with the further u get into a tourny. I seem too play a lot different when it gets closer to payday... I guess you can say I play really tight afraid of not making the money when I am really confident the whole game until this point.

patience my friend. patience is key, patience and well times aggression. I always stress playing TAG style(tight and agressive) but that isnt an absolute. In poker you have to revolve, evolve, change your style to the table and the players your at. If being real tight but aggressive is getting you blinded out and no action, maybe its time to loosen up.

I dont think there is any ONE point that will help you win a tourny, just solid poker, patience, and probably a lil' lady luck too!

thank you.... like I said I play well, but it seems the deeper I get the tighter I get and the worse my cards get and I want to steal blinds but with a 2, 7 off suit not really sure that is the place too yeah know? I play pretty well in freerolls and lately that is all I have been playing.... Anyone know which tournies on bodog they think are worth the buyin?

You can still play in the freeroll. You just can't join the leaderboard until you make 50 posts. But until then, you can still play to your hearts content.

Learn to forget about the bubble and play as if it wasn't there. Many people get a mind block and lose their game when nearing the money, it may very well be the problem since it is happening this much.

Best of Luck!
