need some help with cash game books/articles i have been playing sit n go tournies mostly, and would like to know what books/articles would be a good place to start (for cash games)? i've learned many of the basic fundementals of poker through HOH series, and moshman's sit n go, just to give you a background.

I also like Harrington on cash games, both volumes, solid but nitty (like me )... also Moshman's SNG book has some concepts that work in cash games, also Dusty Schmidt's book has some good tips in the end (but is more about attitude etc.)... Also, check the Hand Analysis sections here and elsewhere... helps to see people talking hands/concepts through...

In the money is horrible imo. SuperSystem is way outdated and has litle barring on todays games(the NL section that is, dont know about the 5card draw/stud section). Ace on the river is pretty good imo but not really the best strategy book u could find. |

Yeah, listen to S93, what he said about the so-called "poker bible" is totally true... That was the first poker book I read and I got the idea that to win at poker you just had to bet at everything... It doesn't go into any mathematical depth at all... Also, the 3 links that S93 posted are spot on, but as someone else also mentioned, Ed Miller's Small Stakes book is immense, you should read that... HOH has a cash game volume, which is also good... If you're planning on playing 6-max (which I highly recommend, much more profitable, fun, 'edgey' imo), then there's some good 3-betting/4-betting game threads in that Ring Game Hand Analysis thread, cuz 6-max is full of absolute 3-bet whores lately... So yeah, that's about all you need I think...

re: need some help with cash game books/articles poker if you are going to read some book make sure it is written by some online grinder and note some hot shot like phil hellmuth or doyle brunson, most likely these books will not improve your game by much bcause they are not made for online games. you have better odds of improving your game by reading these forums and/or watching videos. the best idea whould be to join a training site.
