need help

Ok, so I'm in a bit of a slump. Well, a big slump..... When I first started Online Poker, I was winning money like crazy. And for the past few months. All of that is gone. I don't really know what I'm doing wrong. So I'd thought u guys would maybe give me some new things to try and see if my luck changes.

OK, heres my general strategy:

I play pretty much straight foward poker. I make the obvious calls and folds. I wait for the right hand to come by and then take advantage of that hand, and get the most for it. I do have a tendency to get too atached to a hand and make some poor descions. I play pretty tight in the first couple of blinds. Once I doubt up (and that is if I do) I hit the gas petal. Changing from very tight to very agressive.

Any suggestions on new strategy's?

I know the feeling.

First phycologically you have to change your perspective from losing to winning. Take a break, get away from the tables do something that builds confidence. It don't have to be poker it could be anything from paying attention to the family or doing something impressive at work.

When you come back to the game come with a winning/positive attitude. Learn to recognize the negative swing/phycological slump and don't play when you see it comming.

One of the most important rules overlooked by poker players is.
Play when you're winning and quit when you're losing.

Maybe too obvious and too straight forward. Maybe you need to mix it up when they expect you to be solid and be solid when they expect you to be mixing it up.

I've been experimenting with aggression lately and have learned the importance of aggression isn't in the pedal to the metal. It's in the changing of the gears, sometimes you do it quietly without clanging and other times you do it crunching them gears loudly so you're opponents know it. What are they thinking youre thinking theyre thinking your thinking?

You asked for help and this is not negative advice, this is stuff I experiance myself. It's hard to recognize that you're in a phycological slump and playing while losing and not playing when winning. That you're decisions are out of sync, you're not focused.

Anyway good luck to ya, this is just what I see in your post.

How do you change from "very tight to very aggressive"?

Tight is not the opposite of aggressive, it is the opposite of loose. And passive is the opposite of aggressive.

Sorry to nit pick, but this is a pretty important distinction in my opinion.

I have to assume you mean that you change from tight to loose (?), and that we are talking about tournaments here (since that is the general wisdom as the blinds get higher)?

Switch gears and try to pick up extra blinds on rags.
