My Stats.....What next.....

72 year old w/ 1 year poker experience......

Playing style is tight but when I see a 'winnable' I go for it.... aggresively and sometimes blindly.......I'm good at probabilities and poor at reading people.......

Based over many tournaments, stats are.....

Discounting BB, saw flop about 14%
I win about 4 outof 5 pots in showdowns and another 4 w/out showdown
Usually I get to low $$ on a large tourney and to final table in a 27 or 45 person tourney........ I play a lot when the seas are too rough for fishing.........

BUT, I freakin' NEVER get to the big bucks......

So, do I
Grow some balls and bet more on marginal hands, OR
Do more limping in, OR
Learm more about the 'people' side of the game...

If you really are winning 80% of showdowns (Im guessing u arent though) that is way, way, way too many. That number should be between 50-60%. You are folding the best hand a lot, but 80% is so high Im guessing this is a mistake.

Saying you win ABOUT anything is generally worthless. We don't know how often you're raising preflop or how aggressive you are after the flop. We don't know how often you complete from the sb or how often you call raises in the bb. We don't know how often you go to SD or how often you fold on the river. We don't even know if you're a winning player.

Get Poker Tracker and learn your real stats.

I don't doubt his statistics. I play a similar game so I'd guess he's a moderately profitable player like I am because we're not making it to all the money at very end. I don't think 80% means he's folding the best hand postflop too often, he's just not getting involved in that many pots. When we do we're playing aggressive and isolating as a favorite resulting in a high%. I'll watch this thread for advice also since I have same trouble.

Yes, I am winning about 75 - 80 % of my showdowns......... not a mistake......... Of a 100 hands, I see showdown about 5 times and win about 4 then another 4 w/out showdown..... The one I lose is usually BIG....And, toward the end of the tourney, I don't have any freakin' money......

So, you are saying that I need to loosen a bit and play some of the more marginal hands?????

Do you have Pokertracker or any other tracking tool or are you basing these statistics off memory alone?

I record the stats after a tourney......... They are approximately correct..........
