Multiway and pot odds I've touched this subject on another thread (can't find it, sorry) I started but didn't get any real discussion from it. Here's a example. Let's say I'm UTG in a 6max game with 10♣ 10♦. I raise 5BB and 3 other players call. Flop is 4♥ 10♠ 8♥. I'm probably ahead. If I was heads up I'd bet the pot right here and expect to get paid most of the times. The pot odds are incorrect for being called heads up. But in a multiway pot the pot odds are always correct to anyone chasing a draw, assuming that at least one person calls the bet. Thoughts on this?

I dont understand the question. 1.) Why do you think you are probably ahead with top set? You have the nuts. 2.) You bet pot and someone calls with a draw... why is this a bad thing? 3.) The SPR is lower than usual so its easier to get all in without having to make overbets. 4.) Why wouldnt you bet?.. what does that gain you? |

Didn't see Stu's answer but yeah, acky100 is correct it is much easier to have the correct pot odds to call. I can't really put this thought out of my head. Maybe the issue here is that I don't understand post flop play decently yet but these situations sound weird to me.

Just play tighter in MW pots, bet fewer hands for value but bet them bigger than usual and rarely bluff. Whilst people might get a better price to draw, they also find themselves up against a stronger range and are less able to bluff the river. There is no reason in the world to not keep betting TT when its top set on a 2 tone board, Id raise and shove a monotone board with top set and expect to be against a range I beat.

re: Multiway and pot odds poker ^^ This, but dont go overbetting everytime you have a good hand MW, just bet ure usual pot sized bets and so be it if 4 fish call and the 3rd to call is getting the right price to call for his flush draw, i think where your thinking is going wrong is that you're forgetting that although we dont win as many times when theres like 4 in the hand and we have say top set or something, but when we do win we win much more.
