MTT 3RD BREAK JITTERS

A problem that i find in mtts is tht i play a fairly loose game which means tht i usually bust out early or am up with the chip leaders by the first break. Once i have a big stack later on in tournies i find the standard of play usually goes up and plays tht worked earlier dont work any more.

However if i tighten up i always seem to run into some1 who has been watching my loose play and plays loose back once ive started playing tighter and ill lose most of my stack with top pair top kicker v small 2 pr then tilt out<----(a major problem for me).

Does any 1 have any tips on how to get through the early part of a tourny with a tighter image and so be able to loosen up l8ter as it would probably change my results from cashing a lot to winning.

I have read a lot of posts on here about playing tight early and then moving through the gears as the tourney progresses.

You seem to be the opposite.

You are taking big risks early playing loose, as the chances of busting out like that are greatly enhanced.

Its just my thoughts but perhaps try the opposite way. I think you will be suprised

Thts the thing i seem to play the complete opposite to how every1 advises as i usually have an image as a certified maniac in most games i play but i win at a very good % so it is hard to stop playing this way

You dont have to stop playing loose, what you need to do is either adjust your style to the situation or learn to mix it up a bit.

A tight table is good to play looser on where as a loose table is better for a tight game.

It isnt always going to work as of course poker isnt a,b,c

Mix the two styles up because then if anyone has seen you earlier, he wont know what style your playing let alone what cards you have

Enjoy and Peace

Dont bother trying to project a tight image early on, unless you're playing in the WSOP most opponents wont take any notice of anyone but themselves. Just be patient - it doesn't matter if you've got 3,000 chips after an hour and the tourney leader has 15,000 - you'll find a spot to make a move sooner or later, and when the blinds get up start taking chances and stealing blinds - i like to get the blinds at least once a round in the later stages, hopefully more.
