| Move to $50 HELP?! Moved up to $25 in December and about to move up to $50... All through $5/$10 I had a nice red line that hovered around zero. Once I moved up to $25 it started to trend downward. My win rate is fine and I'm not TOO worried about it... just curious what I might be doing differently... Some some stat differences I noticed ($10/$25): VPIP SB: 16.43% / 19% Fold to flop raise: 45% / 53% Fold to turn raise: 31.5% / 43% Fold to river raise: 27% / 43% Any of these differences worth looking into? Anybody notice anything terribad? Should I even be focusing on this stuff or be happy w/ a decent win rate and move up? What should I have for dinner? Play Wii w/ the kids or watch a movie? Batman or Wolverine? |

| re: Move to $50 HELP?! poker Basically your red line should be going down if you are folding your blinds, which is not a bad thing. Try filtering your graph for vpip = True and if your red line is still dropping you may need to have a closer look. I seem to go through stages where my red line will be dropping for 20k hands and then going back up for another 20k or so. I am pretty sure this is a bad thing unless it is just me getting extremely long runs of good cards... Other things that can affect your red line are the cards you get/how often you are hitting flops etc and your opponents. If your opponents aren't folding as much then you may be folding more, thus your red line will be dropping... Edit: Cook a large piece of steak on the BBQ for your dinner... |

I really don't want to over haul my game... The last time I started "working" on my red line I destroyed my win rate. I just want to isolate what ever change I made. Out of curiosity more than anything else... Got called into work but next day off... steak it is. |

| Read this it will explain about redlines. Red-lines basically come from how you play the blinds/how much and effectively you steal. Thin spots such as 3-betting light and over all from how well you can hand read. Generally as you move up it becomes more difficult to put opponents on ranges as they become less predictable. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/78...t-ever-791734/ Quote:

You could put it down to opponents. At 25NL there is a bit more floating and check raising flops if you are c betting too much or on shit boards. As you said in your OP, you are folding more to raises post flop, which may not be a bad thing if you are making up for it in your showdown winnings. If you had just moved up limits you could have been playing a little passively, folding a little too much but if it continues through a decent sample this may not be as true. As long as your green line is moving up at a steady pace I don't think there is really too much to worry about. Where do you play? I am playing 25NL on FTP atm and looking to move to 50NL probably in the last half of Feb... |

| Lucky, thanks for the link! Hopefully, I'll have some time tonight to read it and go over my stats. No Brainer, I'm only playing on Bodog right now. |

Not sure you really want me to teach you anything... My style is kinda awkward compared to most online players I encounter. I limp to much... and I can barely beat the game playing four tables. Now I only play two. I play more live... I really just use online poker w/ PT as a means to get stats. But, I'll answer whatever questions as best I can. |

| Hey Double, Sounds like we play a similar-style actually, and I've talked a bit about red line in the past on here. My redline generally goes up or breaks even for extended stretches. Usually if it starts to dip, it's because I've: A) started playing a little too aggressively for an extended period or... B) give up too easily and fold when I should be playing passively to get to showdown with a medium strength hand. If you've just moved up stakes, you might be getting blown off hands because the $ values are bigger than normal. Rely on your reads and know when it's time to shut down. |

| It looks like your stats are generally getting better, at least if you're still playing against mostly fish. Just keep in mind that the fish get more aggressive as you move up, but its a very small change. One of the biggest reasons people lose when they initially start playing a new stake level is because they over-adjust, thinking everyone suddenly got a lot better, when that's not really the case. |
