middle pocket play Okay. obviously there are a lot of scenarios and many ways to play them, but in general how do you play them from early, middle or late position. I tend to call from early and raise from middle and late. I struggle after the flop if overcards come. I will make a continuation bet if first to act but if that gets called what hands could i put my opponet on. Did he hit an overcard or is he on a draw? Is it better to make a pot sized bet and if called or raised i would think I had a better feel for their hand? Opinions?

personally i think middle pocket pairs are the trickiest hands to play! its easy to make a wrong decision after the flop when you see overcards out there. before the flop i would fold always in late or middle pos when its extremely obvious you are up against a higher pair, if some one has re raised for e.g if i get 9 9 or 10 10 i will only raise if no one has raised befor me and there is one maybe two max others in the hand, ur j's or 9's are not so formidable when there are four people seeing the flop

re: middle pocket play poker I think in order to play middle pocket pairs profitably, you need to steal your share of pots by betting IP (in position). But you should know the people on your left. Are there perpetual reraisers? Will they let a limp get through? If the answer is 'no', then obviously you should dial back the limps/raises w/ pp's and just fold them. If they are passive and loose, just limp. If they are passive and tight, then raise the life out of them! GL
