Middle pairs out of position?

Hi all,
My ? is how to play Middle pairs out of position in a cash gm, .05/.10 NLHE? I.e pocket 77,88,99. flop is like 45J T-5 Rvr- A or K.
I like to raise preflop 3x BB, but always seem to get called by 3-5 ppl & it seems like I get beat by AK, A10 or KQ, suited or un, on the river. I bet agg post flop, usually pot at each stage. I'm a tight agg player to boot!
How do I deter calls & suckouts?
Any ideas?

i usually dont base my preflop action on the cards..but rather on position...middle pairs from early pos i raise 2x the bb and 2.5x in mid...if i dont flop a set ill put out a probe bet and get out of the way if someone is playing strong...if you flop a set...should be a good payoff if you play it correctly

I usually raise with those in late position, but I will call with then in middle position if there is a limp in front of me or a small raise, and I open to 3x half the time and call half the time. You gotta mix it up, and if there's callers and a few overs, I let it go on the flop. I jut like the pp for the flopping of sets, which will usually get you paid.

The value of mid PPs, generally, comes when you flop a set.

Of course, if you are heads up they could hold up on their own, but you are generally in coin-flips with overcards or a dog to bigger pairs.

The other thing they can do is fill in a straight, which means extra betting round before you get there, so this is a long shot.

Given that, they are not all that good to raise with preflop, as they are very vulnerable. You can't really call a big re-raise comfortably.

Based on the table reads and number of players you have to choose to play smart.
If you're at a 9/10 seater, then the best bet would be to limp as there are at least 3-4 players left to act and call any bet that is not more than 3xBB.
On a 6 seat table, it is better IMO to raise because there are, at most, 2 players left to act, keep in mind that all this advice is based on reads of your opponents.

If one can get in cheap and see the flop, who knows what you can catch.

Raise in any of the action, for me, its an auto fold. Early on I will most likely fold the middle range pair.

I usually make a small raise preflop and hope to get a few folds, then pray for a set. If the flop is all over cards maybe throw a small bet and see if anyone reraises, then I muck the mid pair. GL
