micro level strategy

ok two questions/scenarios here...

scenario 1.
everyone folds to the button. button calls. ive got KQo in the SB. Button just sat down so no reads on him. BB is fairly tight.
do i call the .01 or raise here?

scenario 2.
ive got AJs in MP and raise it .08(one limper) and then the SB raises the less then min to .14. ive been noticing this a lot lately at the micro levels but never get to see what it was that made someone want to raise the less then min. Am i right to assume that someone badly wants a call here with As or Ks? anyone here play the micros and know what the less then min raise usually means?

Scenario 1.
Just raise and take it down. If the BB is that tight he will fold unless he has AQ or better. The button will most likely fold too, if he does call it's more than likely he's got something like J-10, Q9, a small A, etc... or a couple of suited cards. Any big cards hit the flop A lead bet should take it down but if he calls proceed with caution.

Scenario 2
He might be re-raising with a monster or maybe just a medium pair or worse. He's looking for information. If you just call you're getting the right price to see the flop and you have position. And what info have you given him? Nothing really, you could have what you have (AJ) or you could have a monster and be trapping, or suited connectors that if you flop big you could stack him off if he's min-raising with a big pair.

#1. You should raise about .08 and should be done with the hand. Depends on how often the BB has tried to defend his blind. The guy on the button should most likely fold as he was probably just trying to see a flop for cheap and that will get him out of the race. Although at the extreme micros, it is very likely he will still call, even with complete air just hoping to hit. So bet, but be cautious if he calls then bets out on the flop.

#2. I don't think you know what the definition is for min bet, because if you did then you would know that you cannot bet lower than that unless you are pushing all-in and don't have enough to cover it. I think what you are meaning to say is that when the guy re-raised you, he didn't make the re-raise 2x your original raise(therefore, when you bet .08, he didn't make it .16). When I see that, you can view it in a number of different ways. If it is a aggressive opponent, he is probably trying to throw you off a hand, so you should go ahead and 3-bet him. If it is someone who is tight, you might want to get rid of that hand. You find these smaller bets a lot at the micros for a couple reasons...
1. People don't pay attention to what they are betting, they are just thinking(well it's more than that guy bet, also why you will sometimes see someone re-raising the original raiser like .02 more.)
2. They are trying to bet the least amount that they have to that they think will throw you off a hand, because they don't want to sacrifice any of their precious micro bankroll.

well i do know what a min bet is. its the size of the big blind. i said min "raise" which i always just assumed was doubling someone else's raise. but thanks for the insight.

1. i call or raise depending on how often he limps. my aim is to not take down the 3 cents or whatever in the pot..but to see a lot of flops even OOP against much weaker opponants, i want to flop some sort of two pair hand to get my stack in. plus i generally do not want to make the pot bigger for those who have position. raising isnt a bad option, but can be akward to play..


2. you have to call really, looks like a spaz bet to me, but proceed with caution, he did raise, if you flop the ace, keep the pot small by using your position..
