Max buy in - Pokerstars

How do, I play the $2 and $5 nl on pokerstars and obviously buy in for that amount, although I see that the maximum you can buy in for at those levels are $5 and $12.50.

Should I be buying in for these amounts instead?

It depends what you feel comfortable playing with.

Playing with 250BB is very different to playing with 100BB, and as I'm much more used to playing with 100B I sit with that and ensure that auto-top up is set to 100BB and not table max

Probably losing out on some value against fish who sit with 100+BB but I think my game is better so it evens out a bit.

Yeah i do the same as Pascal, but only because most other players are 100bb's or less usually. If everyone was sitting with 250bb's i would too for value.
