Make your call

A real life situation came up for me last night on Ultimatebet
stats:
70 players remaining in tec tourney (top 50 move on).
my stack was 70,000 chips
Oponent stack was 120,000 chips

I was dealt a pair of 5's.
no pre flop bets
flop was 2 2 2
Hmm I now have a nice full house.
What's your call
I bet 10,000
one oponent comes back with
40,000 reraise
What's your call now.

I will give the results to this in a few hours. Think about it.

Not knowing anything other than what you gave us. If I were playing I'd have folded and waited for a better hand - too many players left to the money. I would not risk over half my stack at this point. For all I know, he has the 2 - probably A/2. He could be bluffing but I don't usually like to call a bluff then get stung.

very tough call to make. it seems likley he is hold a 2 with a high card but he may be bluffing.

I would have reraised all in. If he was bluffing he would have folded.
However, there is the risk that he calls you and then shows a two.

If you valued your hand, you would have put the money in.

I would fold that puppy and live to play a better hand. There are just too many possibilitys of higher pairs or of coarse the 2. I might have gone all in if my pocket pair was higher; it's a judgement call.

Whoever has posted that he has a 2 doesn't understand the game. My guess is that he has a higher pocket pair and is trying to get you to lay down what he thinks you might have (AK,AQ), also was there any preflop action? What is the average chip stack here? Rememeber you are not trying to win this, you only need to wait until 20 more people get eliminated.

Whoever posted that he shoudl re-raise all in is stupid. What if the opponent flips over 66...you are DONE. Just fold and wait out until you get into the top 50 and steal some blinds along the way. You are not trying to WIN, you are only trying to survive. Tournament strategy= wait it out.

Final Call - Here is the Answer.

Very interesting to see all the different answers. But one or two surely had it correct.
With only 20 players to beat out, I folded. To live another hand.
My opponent showed his cards.
10 10

I lived on top make the final top fifty.
But I have to admit, it was not easy to lay that down.
Thanks for you input.
Jeff

ps Chic, you sure know you stuff. You were 100% Correct. Thanks

Thats definitely a tough decision. Based on the fact that my opponent bet a 3rd of his stack makes me think he is holding something good. Best case senerio he has two overcards and still a 25 percent chance of knocking you out of the tourney. You definitely either had to fold or go all in. Personally I tend to play on the cautious side so I probably would have folded but sometimes you have to go with you guts.
