low limit cash games.

hey yall.

i sometimes play low limit cash games and i find that i am a losing player at them. I am a winner at the low limit sit n goes but at cash i'm awful. I feel as if i'm to loose with top pair (espically with pair of aces) and that i should wait for big pairs and try to see cheap with suited connectors and low to medium pocket pairs. i've read a few posts and guides on how to play them but i just feel so out of place when i play cash games which i want to change. Oh yeah and i don't play any ace under ace 9.

Should i just give up cash and focus on sng.

I actually don't play AJ in cash games. I prefer to spend money to see flops with suited connectors than lose a medium sized pot with AJ

Well my main suggestion would be to just tighten up your play style in the micro limits. I try and play AK-AO and AA-JJ with preflop raises and depending on my position lower pocket pairs or suited connectors. I always play a little wary too if an ace is on the flop and I don't have an ace in my hand cause SO many people play Ace-rag in micros.

I have played low limit cash games for several years. The problem is that so many people will play any two cards that they are dealt...even in the face of an early position raise. While that sounds like it's a good think, it means that after the flop there could be, collectively, a ton of outs against your top pair. So, your frustration level has to be high to avoid going on full blown Phil Hellmuth style tilt! To succeed at low limit cash games, play tight and be aggressive. Others folks who are there just pass the time won't like your style of play, but you aren't there to make friends.

Just tighen up your pre-flop cards. One of the best pieces of advice I ever read was by Howard Lederner "Don't enter the pot unless you think you have the best hand". I live by that premise and my game has been a lot more sucessful like day and night.
