Leaks

I must be learning something as I have just identified a leak in my game:

I tend to assume that someone with a massive chip lead is bluffing if they over bet the pot and I tend to over value top pair with a good kicker in these situations. (Maybe this is two leaks...) I initially, correctly, put a player on a hand post flop, but my second voice said she is probably pushing with an Ace rag because she has four times my chip stack. Should have listened to that first voice...

Anyway, I learned something new about my game tonight, by realizing that it is a fairly consistent leak in my game.

Do you have any leaks, and do you have any suggestions on how to quickly change leaks once you recognise them?

i was having the same problems before i took a break, and honestly, i found to always trust my first instinct, becuase 90% of the time i talk myself into calling, i end up hitting the rail. unless this guy has been pushing like this on every hand, knowing big stackers will play hansen poker more often then not, since iv been back, i have made sure i go with my first thought, and its paid off for me. lookin forward ot readin others thoguhts on this one for sure.

I tend to do the same thing on my game especially at final table play on mtt's. You cant help but think they are stealing the blinds. Just remember there chipstack did't get that big being lucky every hand. They consistently played the odds game correctly and all good players know when they are in a good position to steal with good starting hands. I myself against big stacks will call there raise once to see the flop and if I miss the flop I cut loose on my losses for that hand. Good thread though and good luck to you on the tables.

Thanks! I have been trying this myself. Have caught a couple who where bluffing and even whittled away a monster chip stack and busted him out with that strategy. (Much to the dismay of someone sitting across the table, saying "Why do you even bother to call")
