The Leak Removal Resolution Thread So we all have leaks in our game, and if you play enough you probably know what they are. So the point of this thread is to get them written down, so you have to consciously think about it. Make a resolution to stop having a certain leak in your game. Hopefully, in a month (or less time), you can come back to this thread and make a new resolution. I'll start, and I have two leaks to get rid of: 1) I resolve to stop stacking off with TPTK at 2$NL, because I think every person at the table is a spewing smack-tard until proven otherwise. 2) I resolve to stop assuming half pot bets are weakness. Just because villain doesn't smack the bet pot button like all the other retards does not mean he will fold if I raise like crazy.

Most of the times when I win the first challenge of during a tourney, I will play very solid poker until something seemingly snaps. If I ever figure out just what that something is, and I plug that leak, ....blah blah blah. In those cases where I lose a first challenge, I can often recover by getting super tight, but my two leaks would be the early challenge with less of a hand that I like, and that aforementioned 'something'.

My leak is going all in with whatever pocket pair I get after a horrific beat (sometimes my fault, sometimes not). Lately its been 6-6. It never ends well. My only hope is that the next 7 or so hands don't contain pocket pairs and then I get over it. But usually towards the end of a sitngo after playing for a couple of hours combined with the beat a few hands ago I see the low pocket pair, and my mouse just clicks all in on autopilot. Again, it hasn't ended well yet.

One of my major leaks is betting into a calling station, I hit TPTK or 2pr on a drawy board and bet hard only to get one caller who I have noticed will call all the way down to the river, I never let up because I know he/she is chasing but I do slow down when the flush or straight are possible, which is a plus. | Calling 3bets from the blinds when I'm stealing and then folding when they bet the flop (and the always do). Actually found this a couple of weeks ago when looking at my position stats. I discovered that I was losing $$ from the button! Not good. Now when the blinds fight back and I have a weak hand I instamuck. |

Mine are; - Starting tournaments when I know I won't really be in a position to finish them. - Insisting that every session be a winning one (i've had plenty of $22 SNG H2H followed by a $33 one, followed by a $55 one days). - Trying to be too creative and fancy in MTT's. - Stop chasing Open Ended Straight draws, because I can't remember last time I caught one.

re: The Leak Removal Resolution Thread poker I have a leak of not seeing the other person's rivered flush if I turn the nut straight. I get too pleased with my hand. Even when hands are exposed I'll say, "Hey! How come he's taking my chippies?!?!" Then realization kicks me in the huevos. Also, I'll make bluffs against unknown players. For example, if I have show down a few big hands I figure people will give me credit. So a couple hands later when I'm the BB and the SB limps into an uncontested pot, I'll raise. He'll call. The flop will be A/x/x and I'll raise again to represent the Ace. He'll call. I'll raise the X turn. He'll call. I'll raise the X river. He'll call, and show his pocket 7's that beat my nothing. I need to make sure I've seen that a guy can fold before I try to bluff him.

-Take more time making difficult decisions to piece together how the hand played out. -Don't play if I am not in the mood, tired, unfocused, or want to be doing something else. -Stop buying into live games as a SHORT STACK. It's not much poker playing and a lot of watching, it SUCKS! |

Nice idea for a thread. Me, I've got way too many leaks that I'm aware of. The problem is that they keep popping up, often unexpectedly. Kind of like that arcade game Wack-a-Mole. Beat one down, then another pops up. Beat that one down, and the first one pops up again. Right now; - playing ring too tight/angry-aggressive as a result of a recent series of bad beats - having no focus or direction in my game choice and playing too many different levels on different sites - paying off on the river when I'm 75% sure or more that I've lost, even if I'm getting good odds - being unwilling to give bad players credit for hitting a hand once in a while when there's no evidence to not believe them on a specific hand (ie, just because they overvalue TPWK doesn't mean they only have TPWK when they reraise my flop bet) - playing too casually at anything other than the cheapest games

Hi, You only mentioned betting leaks in your game. What about emotional leaks, that will automatically fix betting leaks? One of my biggest emotional leak is the "EGO RAISE" or better-yet... the freakin "EGO SEMIBLUFF TURN RAISE WITH NO WAY OF FOLDING HIM OFF BOTTOM PAIR UI ON RIVER!" Dayne

I resolve to stop shoving over min-raises on paired/dry flops with overcards. I played 4 hours of 25$ NL today. My top 3 biggest losses were me blowing off a giant chunk of money to my opponents by bluffing too much in this situation. 25NL players are much looser than the 10$ NL ones. P.S. - Bump for great justice.

re: The Leak Removal Resolution Thread poker I've got plenty myself but my worst is missing the possibility of a full house when I get a flush or the flush when I get trips. So I need to take more time before I raise on the turn and river.
