| Late game strategy So i consider myself a good player sometimes great, but i need a little advice on late game strategies. I seem to change my game a little bit, everytime when i get towards the bubble or late in the game with 3-4 tables left. Should i be more agressive towards the end or be tight and only play the premiums. I have no clue any suggestions will be great |

| It all depends on stack sizes, position, table image, and your read on other players. Also is your table tight or loose? Who is playing to win and who seems like there just trying to move up the pay ladder. Some people only play premiums and do not understand the power of position at this stage. I know at these later stages all the books say to pick on the short stacks especially their blinds. But I've learned to also have a deep enough stack that if they shove losing the pot doesn't hurt me, because most of the time your pot commited when they shove so that your calling with any two cards. This is also the part of my game I have been working on the most. I joined pokerxfactor and have learned so much about this time in the tourney as well as every other stage. I highly recomend them. | I agree with Wislim... One thing to add that did wonders for my game.... Do not steal pots on the button just because you the opportunity presents itself. I say if you have the kind of hand you could live with if you got called and knocked out or crippled, thats a stealing hand. So the point is to semi-steal hands late in a tourny. I played a lot when iwas in college and i got very god at getting close to money but always got knocked out when it counted the most. Then i stopped cold card stealing and got over the hump. I only steal with button with an actual hand which is not really stealing, i want a call. I steal in the next seat from the button because it s alot more believeable, since there is steal the button in the hand. i establish a really mouse type image at the table and then defend my blinds and make these kinds of steals. I don't get alot of reasistance and i usually finish in the money or win.I play according to the situation, not the cards. I do not play only big pairs because you will just get your stack binded away. Hope that helps. |
