| KQ hole cards K flop and I fold I was playing live 1/2 with someone who was a tight player. He raised preflop to 10 with about 3-4 callers including me. My hole cards: KQ Flop: 7 K 10 (rainbow) He bet 15 I called. Everyone folds 7 K 10 2 He bet 30 or 35. and I folded. I put him on AA .... AK or a set....... thoughts? |

| As played without knowing much about anything on the table i'd call down to SD. Even if you are beat atleast you now know he bets small w/ AA (i.e overrates overpairs, therefore you have more IO on hands against him). Also it would imply he probably bets bigger on missed hands (people tend to do the opposite if they're not a good player) so when he bets pot you can probaly peal a bit lighter. If indeed he did have air or something like AJ you know he bets small in MW pots with marginal holdings, and is capable of dubbing with marginals too. etc |

| Why would you call with KQo, hit top pair and not continue when a safe card comes? I dont like the call with KQ preflop, especially if villain is a tight player and raised 5x BB. Villain's range is probably an Ace with a good kicker like K, Q, or J or possibly AA, KK, QQ, or JJ. As played, I dont like the fold on the turn since that turn card didnt really change the situation unless you were fishing for a Queen which is not recommended. |

He can be 2 barrelling any draw and any made hand. So any pair + AK, AQ, AJ, AT, KQ, QJ, QT, JT. The truth is that we know nothing about the villain. I'm not folding this and I'm taking it to showdown. |

Looks like a crazy fold to me. If he's really "that tight" you shouldnt flat KQ to begin with. But I really doubt he was as tight as you thought he was. If you're gonna flat KQ pre you have to call that turn. |

| Haha, this position sucks. Unless you are confident in your hand reading abilities then, no, you shouldn't be calling pf against someone you perceive as tight. Yea, you have to call because you're getting like 6:1 and if this game is anything like the 1/2 games I played he is probably terrible and can have KJss or even something like JQ. I have to agree though, you're probably beat but you if you give him KJ and JQ, added to the times you will simply spike Qball on the river against AK or AA, you should call as long as he bets this weak. |

| Not sure what you was trying to achieve in calling the flop bet to then fold the turn? With several callers, I guess a call is ok PF, to hit that sicko straight but once the King hits, you either go with it, or don't. Don't call and hope to hit a Queen or another King... Question for you, why did you just "call" the flop bet with the intention of folding the turn when no scare (ace) card comes? |

| How is folding fine? We have pretty limited information and just got 2 barrels from a relative unknown. You're right that you COULD be behind, but there are a lot of times when this is a worse K, or some other random hand that this "tight" player doesn't want to let go of. His range on the turn is slightly stronger that his range on the flop. So we can expect he has something now. Or at least what he perceives as a valuable hand. We have way too much showdown value to simply chuck TPGK on the turn. I kind of hate folding here. Call i bet you win more calling than you do folding. |

Well I believe Nascar answered the question for you...But once again I'll just say If I'm calling Pre with KQ against an Unknown player and I hit like this then I'm not folding Quote:

| agreed that if hes that super nitty post then calling pre is a bad idea unless you are deep enough to mine for 2 pair, and even then KQ isn't a good hand to do it against a tight player who will have you your outs a lot, JTs would be way better |
