I would limp in middle if I thought a raise not likely or from late to see flop . not a great hand but good potienal . we'll see what the big boys think
my suggestions is if you hate KJo then turn it around cause I know you like it that way JKo

It's a conservative strategy, but especially if you haven't got any reads on your opponents you could do worse.

For me it's a very situational hand: sometimes I'll play it exactly the way you describe above, other times I might raise it from middle position or even limp it into a cheap multi-way pot. Depends on reads, opponents, tourney vs ring, tourney stage, etc.

It's certainly a hand that can be easily dominated and can trip you up post-flop if you're not careful.

Jack King off lol

Anyways, the way I play it is pretty much based on reads from other players, my stack, the tables stack's, and most importantly, posistion

I'm folding KJo every time unless I'm stealing. No way I'm limping it. If there are several limpers to me with KJo on the button I'd fold it. It's not that great of a hand, and is extremely easily dominated by other hands.

I like this hand a lot in position, and usually play it for a raise. However, most of the tables I play on are full of loose passive fish.

Never call raises with this hand. Even if you flop top pair, it's going to be hard to stand up to aggressive betting with this hand.

HIGHJACK please reply to op first

but is it true that KJs would be considered one of the top 14 or so hands ?
and that being sooooooted only adds a small advantage ?

why the dramatic change ? how do you play this hand ?

I wouldn't say top 14. I like any PP better to call a raise with. I think KJ is known in some circles as a "rookie/noob/donkey hand".

I would recommend you limp with it (if you limp), but try not to play it for a raised pot.

It really depends on your reading ability. If you can get away from an opponent with AK or AJ when you make top pair, play it.

If you are a player who nearly always comes in for a raise when you come in at all, you might raise if you get the 1st shot at the pot while folding if someone raises ahead of you. It is very situational.

KJo!

KJo!

Daniel Negreanu calls it a rookie hand.

And we all know what Tony G thinks of it!

I don't think I've ever limped with KJo. I tend to raise it a lot from late position and just fold in early and middle position.

This hand is fools gold, all glitter without the substance.

There are too many ways to get tripped up on this hand vs. making a legitimate hand. Too easily dominated so I only play it situationally and almost always from late position so I can get some kind of read after the flop since that is the true test for this hand, how are you going to play it after the flop, hot or miss?
