Just one more thing...sorry
In the middle stages of Mtt's. BBs are around 1000 and I have an M of around 10 or let's say 15-20 big blinds.. Sound familiar? Ok, waiting for cards sounds great and all but let's face it there is no time for that. Especially if we want to be in position to hit the final table. So what do I do? Do I sit back and wait for the double up or slowly start trying to pick off pots with marginal hands and increase my stack slowly but surely. If the cards don't come we are screwed right. Is this the time to turn on the aggression and 3 bet with weak hands out of desperation? Or do we just keep waiting and hoping that this is our turn to get lucky and get those kk or aa. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

I was in this exact position last night. I waited and waited and waited. The first ace I got in an hour I pushed with Ace/2
Get called by KQ and AK. I guess in hindsight it might have been better if I had waited for a decent hand while in the blinds so I could get a semi read on everyone else at the table. I could've folded a couple more hands easy enough, its just after an hour of K3, 47, 29, etc. the Ace/2 looks halfway decent. I was worried I wouldn't see a better hand before I blinded out so I just went with it. Sad part is the flop came 8 2 A Turn K  |

You should be willing to play a lot looser than KK OR AA. You should raise with most pairs in position. Also raise with your aq's and aj's. When your m is small your raising requirments have got to loosen. It's that simple. |
