Just a bit short
I'm a freeroll player (real money play just isn't in the budget for now) and, though I am coming into the money with fairly decent frequency...5 times out of the last 50 freerolls I've played, I'm just barely making the money when I do. I play just a bit looser than normal in the early stages when the blinds are cheap, tighten up about 30 minutes after the first break, then very tight to the bubble. As an example of my placing, I am typically coming in to mid 40's place out of 63 places paid on the Absolute FR's, and somewhere in the 60's to 70's place on the 1k Bodog. There are many times when I am busting out within 20 places of the bubble. Any suggestions? I know this play strategy is a bit generalized, but hopefully you get the idea. Thanks for any comments.

You don't say how many entered in the freerolls, but, if they are general entry freerolls that pay as little as 1%, you are doing well. Play more special freerolls, like the CC weekly ones. They pay a reasonable percent.
