Cash in a God Damn MTT

Win the CC team event, and all the side bets from the team captains that have the balls to take it.

Take at least 4 sessions on nl$200

Retain goldstar on pokerstars and actually play some of the VIP freerolls.

Here's my Jan OPR stats.

Decent on pokerstars with a 2nd place

Stars

2008 January
Prizes Profit ROI ABI AFS ITM ITM
$1,028 $729 244% $21 1358 4/14 29%

Not so hot on Party despite a $1200 MTT win, though actually a bit ahead as these stats include two $215 buy-ins which only cost $66 worth of sats.

Party

2008 January
Prizes Profit ROI ABI AFS ITM ITM
$1,384 <$0 -4% $44 342 3/33 9%

Up bit more through SnGs on Party and a little bit of ring.

For Feb I'd like to explore ring a bit more, win a couple of MTTs (obv), final table the $3 rebuy on Stars, keep getting close but no cigar and see T-Rex crush all before them in the CC team event

Not the greatest winrate in the world (3.45ptbb/100) for this month, but it started off fairly break even so I have to be happy the way it ended.

Goals for Feb are to play 50,000 on Stars at min 50nl and achieve Platinum.

Nice graphs..

I was up among 700 dollar last month playing mostly NL 10 on cake .

Is it much harder level at NL 50 than NL 25? ( thinking about putting the money on cake and take it in on pokerstars and start playing NL 50 )

Why take it to Stars? From what I've heard Cake is more fishier so why not stay there. Stars is full of decent regs, yes there's still fish, but it's still much stiffer imo. TBH I'm running really inconsistent at Stars in 50nl, I beat 25nl at a decent winrate, and at Party I was running at a decent winrate at 25 and 50nl. I don't think there's a vast difference between 25 and 50nl.

Pokertracker and pokeroffice dont work on cake , so party poker is more fishy than stars?

You betta believe it. You must be doing something seriously wrong if you can't find tables with at least 2 players with VPIP's >40.

Hey guys, can you recommend any suggestions/guidelines as far as setting monthly goals (as a % of BR)?

re: *** January results, February goals thread ***

Since I took most of January off due to various reasons, I only was up like $15-$20 playing at $5NL. So my Feb BR goal is to finally get rolled properly for $10 NL and start taking down that game.

Some other goals would be to increase my aggression and not be quite as weak/tight as I used to be (made vast improvements already but can always get better). Final tabling a large MTT (~1000 or more) would be a nice achievement as well.

Generally they say that bankroll shouldn't be used to assess or set goals, certainly not in the short term, due to variance. It's more important to know that wherever possible you are playing the hands as well as possible, regardless of whether you make money or not.
