interesting article on determining the strength of Omaha Hi starting hands...
I was reading through some strategy articles and found this... Strategic Estimation of Starting Hands in Omaha Hi Poker According to Edward Hutchinson. Part I | Best Omaha Poker Strategy
Just wanted to see what you all though of this strategy... i thought that it was very interesting. |

Seems like a decent enough way to play at least while learning, but I don't really see myself sitting there trying to add up points and figure out whether or not to call/raise/fold.
Also lets say we have 9c10hJdQc according to this method we should be folding this hand as it is only 14.5 points and I feel I would like to see a flop with a hand like this because of all the straight possibilities. There are lots of times you can take down a pot with a hand like this as long as no flush/boats show up on the board. I would be interested to see some guidelines like this for hi/lo though. |

The point counting method of Hutchisons was one I used when starting in Omaha High/Low (Limit), and it helped me build up my bankroll reasonably consistently. Bear in mind that it mainly works in a full ring game.
