I'm probably beat but...

Let's say you're holding Ad, Qd. The board is showing 4c, 7s, 10c, Ah, 3c. You're raise the blinds 3x and only one player calls. On the flop, he checks so you bet $200. He calls. On the turn, he chakcs and you bet $700. He calls. On the river, he bets a mere $200 (blinds are (50/100). Now, he could have two pair or even a flush and just betting what you might call to get more chips in the pot. He could have nothing or low pair and simply trying to bet something to make you think he has a better hand.
My question is, even if you think you are beat, would you call the $200 just to see what he has since the price is low or would you fold knowing he got the better hand and just trying to get more chips from you?

You simply have to call these - you're getting at least 10/1 odds (maybe more depending on the blinds) so only have to win 1 out of 10 of these in the long run - There's no particular reason to assume that you're behind either on that betting pattern - you have got pair of aces and big kicker after all!

Thats a great question. I think Rob has called it right here, I think you really have to call for pot odds, partiucarly with top pair. He is mad to call down with what looks like a flush draw, particularly with that big bet on the turn. The small bet doesnt look like he is trying to steal, it just looks like he has made his hand and is hoping you either go over the top of him or you call for the 200, in which case he makes another 200

I would call, knowing I am probably beat but I dont think I could lay this down as he may also have been calling down with A-lower kicker

I'd call even though your beat.. the post flop bet is weak considering what is allready in the pot. $150 for the Blinds, your $300 and his $300.. $750 in there on a $200 bet.. say if he has limped in with the 6,5 suited or unsuited. Guy is getting correct odds to call.. Higher Pockets then 10's he just smooth called you. Trips he definatly is smooth calling you.. Plus he may fear the flush draw(clubs are showing).. Ok now you bet the ace with a $700 bet and he's called. Sweet pot right about now..$2550 in the pot.. Then he bets his trips with a $200 bet because the other club came. Not sure if you have Ace(X) of that suit. Also why not keep you in the pot and possibly lose more chips? A strong bet may make you fold while the minimum bet would keep you in. Maximize your profits I always say.

I would think this would be more of smooth calling then trying to chase any cards down in this scenario. You've been beat from the get go and why? Because he didn't show the strength of his hand by re-raising any of your bets? Some people do this.. Keep a strong hand hidden..

No way you fold here. Close your eyes, press the call button, and pray.
