| Identifiying floaters from stats. Are there any established figures for identifying floaters from their stats (I would imagine fold to c-bet) At microstakes I would define floating as calling with high aces or KQ rather than calling with a much wider range with the plan of pushing you off a hand. What I am looking for is situations where I can pot the turn and show an auto profit. So any ideas would be useful. |

| re: Identifiying floaters from stats. poker You don't need stats to tell you who's floating; it's pretty obvious that the guy who hasn't folded to your previous 3 cbets is coming along with some speculative hands. If you suspect it, just bet the turn and see what happens. Generally you either want to barrel on a scare card, or you want to barrel with overcards or a weak draw like a gutter. | I start by looking at VPIP/PFR by position, then fold to cbet/fold to turn cbet - players who have a big increase in the gap between VPIP and PFR on BTN over their MP and CO stats, and with low fold to flop cbet, like to float, and it won't be w just broadway cards. |
