I don't get it, how does one of my opponents have a high pair EVERY ROUND??

I know there's just one of me, and 9 of them (usually less if I'm raising from middle or late position), but how does one of them have AA KK or QQ EVERY TIME?!? I thought these hands were extremely rare...I know I get one of these pairs like once every 150 hands.

Also, I've come to the conclusion that it is impossible to win a tournament if you never get dealt one of these hands for the entire tourney, which is the case for me most of the time.

Well, you see, it's like this, Card Royalty, like live Royalty are all a bunch of lazy ass bums. They don't do anything, but when they are called to task they come out in droves.

Actually, it's more than 1 per hundred hands It's 1 every 73-74 hands. I know this isn't sound math, but if there are 9 others, that's once every 9 or so hands that one of them will get it, or once an orbit or so. The math's off, because on person's hand affects the odds of the next person getting a premium hand as well, but I think that's a good estimate.

I know exactly how you feel. Myself, yesterday alone i played in at least 5 different tourney's and not one of them did i get a decent hand and then when i did someone always hand just one hand better than mine. I don't quite understand, but i'll keep on playin. I am one of those people that loves to play poker, but i can't allow myself to play a whole lot of real money,unless it's a free roll. I do love to play so therefore i will keep playin even though sometimes i don't always come out with the best hands. You also have to sometimes play the hand as well as you can with your own strategy and hope the other persons folds!!!! GOODLUCK

Last few times I've had Kings and pushed preflop ive ran into Aces. All I can do is accept it cause it's gonna happen. I've been on the other end of it too. Had a nice one one day, had Aces and ran into 2 players with Kings. Pocket pairs seem to spawn pocket pairs, for instance I remember seeing a hand on tv from this years WSOP Helmuth was in it, 3 players in the hand AA vs AA vs KK.
