Hubble Freeroll (Pokerstars) Guide on how to get ticket

NOTE: NO FLAMING, also if you stink at poker this wont work anyways lets get onto it
THIS IS MORE OF A GUIDELINE/STRAGTEGY TYPE GUIDE

1st Hour -
Okay u got the lotto players for this hour, more of like 15 minutes but anyways play your best poker, if u got a lotto at ur table just wait till u get a great hand and call it, you wanna build up your chips as much as u can at the beginning for later ur goal should b at least 8-10k this hour

2nd Hour -
Most of the elimination is here because of the blinds get really high and u have antes which get rid of sitter outters, this is where u gotta get ur bluffing done, just play well because its going to a lot harder, i would suggest ur goal to get 30-40k for this hour

3rd Hour -
Blinds are killing short stacks so make sure you take advantage of this, also this is where it starts to get hetic, i would suggest if you have 50k or higher to play aggresive, 30k or lower should bet somewhat aggresive, 12k and lower only play high cards and wait for your chance because u can get screwed easily, suggested goal should be 75k-100k

4th Hour -
this is the main hour of the tourney, it should end with about 200 or less people, okay short stacks play as smart as you can no desparation bets or draws trust me, high stacks should play carefully as short stacks will mostly go in all the time when they get a good hand, if you are really short stack just wait out till u gotta play the blinds or u get AK or something, suggested goal should be 100k-anything

5th Hour and higher -
if you have the suggested goal you should just try to get short stacks out dont really work on the 50k+ people because you will likely only need to elimante only 200 people so make sure u take that into mind, when it comes down to 120 people and down just sit out if u have over 200k and just play blinds, short stacks only play blinds and great hands, if you get in the 99 or below just go all in or try to win it

HOPE THIS GUIDE WILL HELP YOU GUYS IN THESE 12k TOURNIES

Not a bad guide, but because it's a freeroll, you can get donks always in the end... for example, people who call with Ace/5 vs my 8s with 700 left for instance...and hit 2/3/4.

Any advice on the Limit ones? The donks don't go out, and its BET BET BET BET BET BET every time maximum raises. Pisses me off to no end

Carry on with your guide :P

There's not much diff between limit and NL in the FR's, IMO. The donkey all-inners NL are the same max round bettors (mouse wheelers as I call them, among other things ) in the limit games. I've played hundreds of them in the last 2 years, L and NL.

Most of the Round 2 tickets I've won have been in the Limit games, but I think that's easy to explain since my preference is limit even on live tables. Play strategies that apply to NL do not work as well in L games, and vice versa.

About the 'pretty dumb poker' comment, IMO the all-in preflops are equally as dumb in NL. Doesn't make the limit games any more or less lame than 12k entry NL freerolls.

Matter of fact, it is easier to navigate thru the donkey nation in limit games. 2 or 3 smart players at a table can stop the charging rhinos, while all it takes is one player at any good NL table, at any level, to throw the all-in flag on the table and screw up a good hand and hours worth of tedious play.

Most Hubbles draw a full 12k entries. 99 tickets is about 0.8% of the players. Don't think I have ever seen a 'full' limit FR on Stars. Depending on the time of day, you are usually playing for the top 2-3% for a ticket.

Everyone has to play where they are the strongest, so I'll stick with the limit games. BTW - I do on the ring games too ... I'll leave the road rash, raw feet, continual reloads, single hand busted bankrolls and bad beats for the rabbits. This tortoise will always make the finish line without too much wear and tear. ..

I still don't understand why people play these.

If you wanna make a bankroll out of nothing then play bodog's freerolls or private freerolls like the ones here.
Pokerstars is probably the worst site out there for freerolls, but people still seem to go there because it is the most popular site. Go to the small sites, they usually have less people in their freerolls but still have the same prizepools.
True, you might have cashout problems with some of the crappy sites, especially with freeroll winnings. But I think its worth the risk in order to get some $$ a lot easier and faster.
Ive built my roll up from nothing plenty of times, but I have never played freerolls at Stars. I just dont see why people would play a satellite that gets you into a freeroll.

FR's at Stars are not sats to a FR. Stars FR's get you a ticket to a second FR, which has been increased to $2k, twice a week, with a decent ITM range.

I've played a few of the FR's at FullTilt and they are just as insane, if not more so. 2,700 entries for 27 paid seats in a $100 pool and they are prime examples of the Donkeyville Express.

You are right about the private FR's. They are where I have cashed the highest. Better play, less entries, more places ITM.

well technically what you just said made it sound like a sat to get into another freeroll lol

I've made the final 99 in the Hubble 3 times now. I've made the final 88 once in the Razz one.

My step 1 in the guide is slightly different than the first poster.

My idea is this, there's so many freerolls that it doesn't really matter if you go out on hand 1 or hand 100, either way you're out. So, on the first hand if ANYONE goes all in, I call. I don't care if I have 72os or AA. My first PS Hubble freeroll 6 people went all in first hand, I had 65os and won then could pick and choose what to play for the first hour. I would NOT play this way on a small freeroll, not the ones like CC has, I think on those you can maximize profit potential by playing normally.

But any of the NL PS freerolls, whether holdem or omaha, I'm all in first hand if anyone else is.
