How to play AK preflop in a loose, NL Cap game?

I've been playing a lot of 25NL cap lately and found that the competition in general is rather weak. I'm guessing because a lot of the looser players that like to gamble play cap so that they won't get stacked.

Anyway, I've had a fairly good time exploiting these opponents, although I need to learn how to control my tilt when they call my capped shoves with 3 outers and hit on the river, lol.

I was wondering if there would be any advantage of pushing with AK pre-flop in certain situations, against weaker players in a cap game.

For example, say I'm in early/mid position and I 3 or 4 bet AK, then there is a re-raise behind me by a player who's stats would be something like 30/15/40 (Very common in 25NL Cap 6 max). Good idea to cap it or not?

I would try to extract value from someone like that and probably just call(depends on the raise, was it a big one or min??? Also is your AK suited or not? By saying the person is behind you preflop, are they ever the blinds, cause this would change postflop altogether). If it was big, then I might just push to Cap, small then just call.

Also, have you seen these opponents lay down a hand that had been capped like this preflop? If so, then I am definitely capping. Have you seen this opponent lay down a hand on the flop when there is an Ace or Kind on board? If so and I have position on them, I am calling and hoping for a c-bet so I can cap it.

It's not a specific situation but I run into situations like this a lot. Th reason I think capping it may be the way to go with loose, agg oppoents is that they seem more willing to fold if you cap it pre-flop vs post flop. If I just raise, I miss the flop, I am opening up myself for a huge bluff on the flop ( or are they bluffing, lol) because c betting rarely works against them if they ahit any part of the flop or have as little as 4 outs.

Capping it seems to accomplish two possible scenarios:

1: A chance that they will fold, I take the raised blinds down.

2: I'll get to see all 5 cards, which is the best way to go with AK and won't be bluffed off my hand before showdown.

That was kind of my thoughts on the matter. Of course this would only apply to really loose, over agg players. This whole theory goes out the window with a nit. lol

+1. It's probably correct to shove 100% from all positions facing any type of action. it might be better to raise less than that when the pot so far is not high enough yet, but if you ever touch the fold or call buttons in a 30bb deep game with AK, you don't understand this game.

I think you're misunderstand the terminology (either that or I am). It's a NL Cap game meaning that the max wager for the hand is 30bb, but you can open shove 30bbs if you want.

yeah i too am regular player at these tables, and i too come across few loose players most of the time...
Anyways, if i was in the situation u mentioned, i would reraise his reraise{only if u are sure he is a losse player}...
But the strategy which has best worked for me at such tables is "limping"...
Yep, i would really love to limp with AK there, and not give a bit of clue about my hole cards and just play his raises and bets and make him commit his suicide...
