How to play Hey guys, I haven't really posted too much on here but i've been checking around. I have a few questions on how you typically play some hands I've been having trouble with.. I downloaded the trial of poker tracker 3 and love it so far. Its been showing me that I am losing when i'm trying to play ATo...how do you like to play this hand from middle position? Also, what is your opinion on playing suited gap connectors like J9 or T8? Still kind of new to playing poker online so I'm trying to fix the holes I have which feels like a lot right now...especially since I allowed myself to tilt last night (nuff said on that). Thanks for the help!

Sorry I was in a rush leaving work. But here's a hand for an example from a $.02/$.04 game a few days ago. I'm dealt As Td Villain: Raise $0.16 Hero: Call $0.16 *** FLOP *** [Qd Jh 6d] Villain: Bet $0.20 Hero: Call $0.20 *** TURN *** [Ts] Villain: Bet $0.24 Hero: Call $0.24 ***RIVER***8♠ Villain: Bet $0.20 Hero: Call $.020 Villain had pocket 6's and beats me with trips. Any pointers? He was making alot of raises with pocket pairs but he played this hand a little more tentatively than usual when he had pairs if that helps.

re: How to play poker There are very few, if any, times that you should be cold calling a UTG raise with ATo from MP unless you have very specific reads(which, no, you don't, I don't care what you say...) Drop those crappy unsuited broadway cards from your range when calling an open. You absolutely have a ton of leaks in your game, all beginning players do. The absolute majority of players do. Look into the Cash Game Analysis section and start reading and posting in there. Take the responses as positive criticism, even though at first, some may be harsh, but that is only because I guarantee you're making a lot of mindless plays. Think about why you're doing every action.

Yep definitley start with a hand chart, i mean we all have have one and we add certain hands in and take certain hands out depending on players and position etc, so its not quite as simple as reading a chart but definitely a good place to start. First of all dont think just because pokertracker says you're losing money with a hand means you're playing it wrong, it could just be due to sample size, for example if you've had ATo 10 times over 1000 hands and have lost a dollar with it, it doesnt really mean all that much, but yeah well done for getting pt3 and joining here. Id reccomend reading up lots on position also until you understand the importance of being the pre flop aggressor.
