| i like the idea that you should bring enough to the table to be comfortable. meaning if you loose a hand or a streak you shouldn't feal like you've lost anything important. you were not talking about this... and i know, im not done yet, the otherend is if you feel you are not winning justifiable money for your stack then you are not winning anything important to you and inflict the same mistakes |

| A common rule of thumb is that you should be playing with 50% to 100% of the max buy in. You want to be able to cover most bets at the table and not be seen as an easy mark to the larger stacks. You shouldn't generally be playing with more than 20% to 25% of your bankroll. Bankroll $1-$50 = $.05/$.10 NL with $5-$10 Bankroll $50-$125= $.10/$.25 NL with $12-$25 Bankroll $100-$250= $.25/$.50 NL with $25-$50 Bankroll $200-$500= $.50/$1 NL with $50-$100 Bankroll $400-$1000= $1/$2 NL with $100-$200 |

| re: How much do you bring to a table ? poker I almost always play limit and I generally bring between 30 and 50 times the BB. About the only NL I play is occasionally I'll sit at a .05/.10 or .10/.25 table with $10 bucks or so. Just not comfortable throwing all my bankroll in on a single hand. Yes, I know the adage of no risk/no reward, but I'm not playing for my livelihood... |

| NL or PL you should always buy-in for the maximum, there is no reason not to. If you cannot afford this then you are playing at stakes far too high for your bankroll. Although i should say that one of my favourite quirks of online play is always being left with spare money on sites i no longer want to play on. When this happens i take my money to the micro-limit NL tables and attempt to double up enough times to reach $25 so that i can cash out.
