How limping in with 2/2 broke my heart.....

Ever try to limp in early position with a small pair hoping to catch a set on the flop? Well i did just that the other day with a cute little pair of dueces.
While calling I said to myself "how funny would it be to limp in and catch a 4 of a kind with 2's?" You see the table was full of "ALL-IN"ers every other hand and the chips were going from one side of the table to the other with a couple people out already. I figured if I did catch a set that I could count on a caller or two. Still, it was early on and the blinds were low so I wasn't going to go crazy with a small pair. So anyway a couple more calls and then of course the big blind thinks for a second and raises like 400 or something like that. So I fold. No big deal, I half expected to have to anyway. You can guess what comes next. Yes two 2's on the flop. My prediction had come true. I just wasn't in the hand. I'm not complaining, I just thought it was quite my luck that day for that to happen to me. I was out shortly after that hand. I don't remember exactly how.

BEEN THERE

I can relate to that Freak cause it happen to me just a few days ago on Pokerstars, I was dealt 5/5 in like 3or4 position and just checked. well to make a long story short, flop came i beleive 5/9/J BB raised, all folded except me and i just called then turn 5 and river Q. I wound up eliminating him and adding to my war chest.

P.S. I think that's only happen like 3 or 4 times in my short poker career.

Ouch! So sorry... I hate it when stuff like that happens. You did the right thing, though. There's no telling what might have shown up on the flop and most of the time you're not even going to flop one other two, let alone both of them. I feel your pain!

well ... u could also fold 7 2 , and the flop comes 7 2 2 . ANy hand can hit thats not the thing . its about odds ! 22 in early positions costs u more then u will make profit since u dont know if u get raised behind or get enough callers , so good fold , or are u complaining too when u fold K 3 offs and the flop comes KK3 ?

Its just not worth thinking about the " if i played i would have .. " the decision NOT to play was still correct ...

I know folding was the right thing to do, this was really more of a "don't you hate it when this happens to you?" post.
